Another tragic day as we awake to the attacks in Brussels where dozens are dead. European cities are changing and have become a Mecca for radicalized elements. Lately the rush of people is from Syria.
This shifts the focus of the Presidential race back to foreign affairs. Events favor Donald Trump who just bolstered his foreign policy chops with his AIPAC speech and announcement of a list of policy advisors. Of course, Secretary Clinton can claim experience in the field as well.
There's nothing like the feeling of loneliness you get as a lame duck. You walk through the rooms where you used to get attention and it's like you are not there.
That's how it seems with President Obama's trip to Cuba. I think it's important and interesting and I found President Castro's remarks a fascinating rebuff to US hubris. I also think opening the door is important, as I am not one of those bitter Miami , third generation Battista exiles longing for the good old days.
The Cuba trip is overshadowed by the campaign and other events and the anchors standing in Havana this morning trying to talk about Brussels was a case in point.
