WDT:Steal Big and You Get Probation

Swipe two hundred grand in a white collar way and you get probation.  More interesting is how bad is the oversight that allowed it to happen. Those NFP's can be profitable.

I like the last line,"she is no longer employed by frontier housing"..too bad, maybe they can give her a good recommendation though,I mean she will be looking for a job with no meddlesome jail time to worry about.

When she has paid it all back with the prevailing interest rate have her do 100 hours community service. I don't know this lady but if she agrees to the above terms justice will be served. She cant pay the money back in jail and it will save the the taxpayers money in the long run to house her there for a $500 a week.

You have to keep in mind that by definition, it is legal for executive directors to steal from NFP's. Her crime was she tried to keep it a secret.

Also, 16 weekends in jail is still jail.

Lets not pretend that "soft on crime" is reserved for white collar crimes. Those cocoa whippin guys that killed the kid before Christmas were "known to police".

What ever happened to the woman who stole the Christmas tree from the arcade? How about the woman who killed the Chihuahua in front of the kid who was walking it, up in insaneburg? How about the cop who was standing over his wife's body, just before he assaulted the old couple trying to help (still under investigations?)?

Wow. I am going to look for a nice cushy job with a NFP. Don't they conduct audits any more? Seriously, what would someone need to pilfer before you actually get jail time? Between making at least $15/hour, numerous conferences, and skimming a little here and there, I will feel just like a teacher.

These people that steal from taxpayers and not-for-profits need to be taught a lesson somehow!! I agree if she is in jail she can't work and steal more from someplace else, however there should be substantial fines as there are with other laws ie...DWI!
How much do you think it costs the taxpayer to have the BCI and comptrollers office investigate, audit, charge and convict these people ? In the case of ALEXANDRIA'S retired town clerk there were two auditors from the state comptrollers office staying in Alexandria Bay motels and eating three meals per day there for (9) NINE months. Figure out what that costs us taxpayers ?? There should be heavy fines and stripping of pensions earned while stealing. Let's be real and why give them a break! Am I missing something ??

What about a cop (Ogdensburg) accused and arrested for a crime.. Put on administrative leave which he should have been but part of his release was to stay away from certain parties. He violated that now hes in jail and still getting paid.. Why?? Is everyone in Ogdensburg like the previous mayor (Nelson) brain dead. You cover these things in negotiations not make life comfortable for a person who violates the law.. As part of his punishment when he pleas all of his wages should be recovered by keeping any time he has such as vacation, personal or bonus up to the amount he recieved while on administrative leave.. If hes found completely innocent or a jury finds him not guilty is why administrative leave was negotiated not to completley compensate a guilty person but to compensate a completely innocent person.
I know the mayor of Ogdensburg was a cop and obviously should be aware of this and I feel if its not correct for the people of the burg his priority should be to make the City Manager aware of what needs to be done in negotiations with the PBA in the future..
Another thing that can be done is get the city Attorney off his ass and working for his money on this kind of issue, so issues which popped up like in Morristown dont get out of hand.. I dont believe Mr. Silver dosnt represents the city well>

And how about the NFP's of Watertown now trying to come up with a plan to fill the vacant store fronts. What a disaster waiting to happen. The plan is so bad and unrealistic with about zero hope of working that our good Mayor didn't even link the article. Dandy Don's all in a row. Getting ready to waste some more of our money.

Stealing is sometimes a bit relative. 7:52 makes great points. But what about our Mr Carmen of Samaritan Hospital? While the nurses are run ragged, he pockets a million dollars a year. Does that money really go for better treatment of patients? Yeah right.

No wonder my stay in the hospital was so expensive Mr. Carmen should not be paid that amount of money, all the While The LPN and lab techs Keep getting screwed on their contracts .
