It's not just the weather as Louisiana and Arkansas were close to NY.  However a survey says when you factor everything in from crime to cost of living, the Empire State is the worst spot to retire

      The best ?  Wyoming !

If you have a govenrment pension its not too bad because they don't get taxed. But I always thought NY was a good place to retire to as long as you pretend you live in Florida most of the year. I think that because that's what everyone around here does. Ask your old boss.

This is why our teachers and state employees, after bilking taxpayers here in NY, head south to spend it. They ain't no fools.

Beg to differ with you Jeffie.

According to all the illegals and the 47% of the people that pay no taxes think NYS is the best state to live in illegally or not.

They are receiving the best welfare assistance in the country thanks to the Most Progressive Gov. in recent history Andy Dandy Cuomo.

I wanna go to any of Donald ABFGTgop cOON'S buildings. They're empty and I can listen to the echo saying "Clint Marsh, where are you?"

Wyoming? High Plains complete with tumble weeds and ghost towns. Makes the Adirondacks look like an urban area.

How sad is that. You can thank the Liberal Democrats for taxing the hard working folks who made this state great right out of here.
It will only get worse.

that's why nys teachers leave when we retire... takes so much of our hard earned pensions! but it is all about the kids! lol

Funny, Wyoming, the state where retirement is best, is also the state with the highest percentage of gun ownership. Ya see, boys and girls, when you don't have a Benito type government, it allows for more freedom, and a better life, both in retirement and during your working years. Oh, by the way, their crime rates pale when compared to ours. Told you so, many times. But you just keep bending over, as you seem to enjoy things as they are.

It certainly is.. I get some help now as I dont get much pension and my social security is minimual. Patty Ritchie just introduced legislation to cut me off from any treat I may want to include in my diet like Steak. What business is it of anyone what I eat as I get a set amount based on my income and when its gone its gone..She certainly is an attention queen isnt she.

Who woulda' thunk it? No way. Where is Handy Andy hiding lately? Haven't seen him since the Solar City funding (minor?) fiasco. Oh, he must be on his $15.00/Hr. tour/ campaign bus.

@8:44 AM, I beg to differ with you. All of these generous benefits started with Gov. Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller, one of the original RINO's. The only thing about Dandy Andy, he is just like all of the gov.'s after Rocky. Hasn't grown a set of bawlz big enough to make a change. All about the votes.

new York is the worst in everything and watertown is the armpit of ny.

dajeep, were all impressed that you remember who Nelson Rockefeller was. But no one agrees with your idiocy. Just because he dipped his toe in the libtard waters, doesn't mean he gets blamed for the ocean of donkey stupid that followed.

11:07, maybe you should move to Wyoming? Don't let the doorknob hit ya..well you know the rest.

11:16 Quit your whining. You are far luckier than the kids eating the slop that has been dictated from Moocheele, Gillibrand on her no sugar, calorie count posting that was instituted by her lovelyness when Harry Reid asked her why she was packing on the pounds durning her middle age years.

Your party the Libtards decreed it was their business to see what you ate, when you ate and whether you go to bed starving or not. As long as their own are taken care of who the heck cares about you.

Next up per Ms. lovelyness is getting an account of how boys are getting action in or not on college dorms, she wants to be in between the sheets of these kids sexual activity. What a perv.

6:25, I understand your party line reaction. I'm doing pretty good, as I did the government employee game. And yes, I will make sure you and your kids know where to mail the check if I ever move. Idiots like you have made my golden years special. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. Tell your kids I love them.

Welcome to New York State where your mortgage is $500 per month and your property tax is $600 per month

9:26, you couldn't be more wrong, or more of a hypocrite. But hey, you got yours, what do you care? No one is jealous of you, trust us on that.. yet you continue to motormouth on, scolding, baiting, chiding, namecalling anyone that does try to make a difference or express a different opinion. As another poster noted, you don't debate, you bully. What I learned in childhood is if you ignore bullies they evaporate. Good idea, one we should follow.

It would be worth mailing the check, and you've used the kids thing to death. You would love Wyoming.

The Thousand islands Inn has several rooms to rent---NOT.
Thanks to a zoning officer who is ill informed and self-important and s former Village Board member who was clueless to conflicts of interest rules----and the Village Attorney never advised otherwi$e.

I hate to think about having to move to a trailer park in Florida on day. I hate living there. I have before. But if that's the only way I don't end up eating dog food for dinner, I guess that's where I go.
