Lawmakers Seek Cover

A large increase in the minimum wage seems all but certain. Lawmakers  are said to be trying to cut a compromise deal they can shop around as evidence they didn't sell out their upstate business constituents.
I think the politics says the Governor wins and the phased in wage hike is passed. "$15" has become such a rallying cry, anything less won't fly.

Any GOP Senator that votes for it, including Patty Plate, needs to face a primary.

What is needed is one more commission, created by the exalted elected politburo but protected and immune from oversight by Joe Schmoo voter. An apt name that comes to mind is; "State Commission Reviewing Equitable Wages"...SCREW for short.

We dont worry about that up here in NNY because our two Republican Senators sold us out for the last three years..
Ritchie is too involved in her woman of the year, and FFA meetings and girl scout encounters she lets Sarah Compo do all of her talking for her. With her its all fluff and no real action for her constituants.

Three years you say.... More like six.... She made a lot of promises when she was running but hasnt kept many.. Do away with commissions and authorities.. Hah where.... Tax break for the rich but no rebate for the poor.. Highest tax hike in SLC history and it was a big one she sponsored and voted for.. Another last year in Jefferson Co.. Her refusal to speak other than through a spokesperson says volumes for the gal that cried during a debate with Aubertine when he was in the Assembly. Her refusal to expain her vote on a recent issue when asked to.. Her very obvious war on the needy and poorer people of her district and her constant NO to the minimum wage... Lets see if shes a hypocrite and a dealmaker and votes for it through the budget...

Whenever Republicans cut spending for a social welfare program, Democrats claim that it's not unaffordable spending that the Republicans dislike, but poor people. By passing the farm bill and stripping spending for the food stamp program -- House Republicans showed that that stereotype is largely true. This sterotype carries over to the Republicans in the NYS Senate and our Senator Ritchie... She certainly forgot where she come from fast.

Anything to get the vote and further screw up life for people who have low income in the first place. If people make more money, hasn't history shown that rents will go up? They did when Drum paid more for off base rents than were charged here by most landlords. Any just wants to be seen as some kind of hero in the minds of the needy. He's not. He will make businesses all over even harder to compete other than by reducing employees or raising prices. Too many of our state Legislators simply have their political heads up their respective asses! We should vote out ANY Legislator voting for it.
