Why Not a Newsletter from the Electeds ?

The matter of newsletters explaining the tick tock of local governance is a good idea and following the Maple City issue prompted me to think of how that could be done. However, I think it's the elected leadership that should report to the people, so perhaps the Mayor, a Town Supervisor, Chair of the County Leg should pen a weekly or monthly newsletter to be posted on the Web and linked to high volume sites run by news organizations.
Appointed administrators report to the elected body but the elected people report to the public and should communicate to them. I tried to do that through this blog, but government tid bits were mixed in with the varied format here, and that troubled some.
However, with websites and aggregators abounding, newsletters would be easy to produce and helpful to the public. An aggressive press could still do their job of adding perspective and depth without feeling some politician was eating their lunch.
Maybe the years of controversy started with Scott's blog and continued with mine can lead to the direct contact with the people that spawned the movement.

Maybe you should do a daily newsletter for you bar employees and supplier.
All you would have to do is stop working and start typing. Productivity be damned.

I have been disappointed in the content of some of these websites. A lot of words with no substance. I would like to give an example, but the politician who owns the sites can not be criticized here.

Yes, it would be interesting to have Addie's schedule and what she actually does and as to how many times a day she is or has been meeting with the corrupt pols in Albany.

Memo to: City Council
From: City Manger
Date: ongoing
Subject: City business update

The city fire department is still demanding they be allowed to screw over the tax payers.

All other departments are running as usual.

That is all.

Respectfully,
City Manager

7:46AM Fell hook line and sinker to the poster of 331. Addie has way to many meetings with corrupt political types in Albany and it will take a while to print to the dysfunctional operation her office maintains. She is too busy even being able to schedule her ride on the Campaign Cuomo latest bus tour not for ethics reform but for purshing $15.00 an hour for individuals that do not have the skill set to deserve being paid this amount. Meanwhile when more businesses in our district fail, Addie will be still riding that bus, Little Carl's bus or anyone else till she can cash out. Ritchie being more successful in the minority in a very Blue Controlled State run by Addie Types has learned where to cut waste, run a tight schedule and office and jump on board to the more populist agenda needs and requirements that the ditrict has. Thank you
