WDT: Justice Scalia Dies at 79....Balance of Court at Stake...Big Fight Ahead

The Supreme Court's longest serving member and a conservative stalwart noted for his intellect has died during a hunting trip.  Justice Antonin Scalia was 79.
The passing sets off what will surely be a spirited political debate and fight who fills the spot on the nine member court long known for its near even split on many issues.
Republicans will no doubt slow walk the confirmation of any Obama nominee in hopes of getting the issue before the next President. However this will become an issue in the campaign and could spark on national debate on an issue not currently being debated.
Before Justice Scalia's body was at room temperature, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced no Obama nominee will be voted on.

He was probably assassinated. This is terrible news for the makers and good news for the takers.
The GOP should reject at least one nominee of Obama's, like the democrats did to the GOP presidents so many times in the past.

But in the end, the GOP should let Obama appoint someone. But first they should make certain that President Trump is willing to pull an FDR and pack the court with 10 more judges in his first term.

Obama should try to appoint "the first" something or other. Like the first heterosexual female Court justice.

"He was probably assassinated."

YES!! Most likely by a cabana boy. Conservatives have been known to be very closeted that way.

Good call.

Hillary says Obama would be a "GREAT SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ".

Why not wait and see where his nomination might go ??

May Justice Scalia go in peace and his right-wing Reaganesque beliefs along with him.

Don't try to change the subject, Publius. We all know about McConnell. It's your Liar in Chief that is the problem here.
