WDT: Government largest employer in St. Lawrence County

Nothing new here, but this is a public validation of year's of policy aspirations to make this area truly a ward of the state.  And yet someone will look at this and say they are tired of supporting downstate.

who would work elsewhere? governmenter pensions and benefits are the BEST, the workload is light, you can moonlight and take breakfast breaks, etc. Am I jealous? no just broke by paying out my $ for taxes to support this load of cxxx.

Try doing the math more honestly. Compare giving up all those mandated govenrment jobs for:
the right to sell your power to downstate instead of having them take it from us.
and the right to set your own cigarette tax rates and other taxes
and the right to NOT pay out million each month in welfare.
And the right to control gambling and the profit from it
And the right to negotiate with unions on the tax payer's terms.
And the right to do public works projects without paying millions in inflated wages and inflated professional fees.
And the right to set your own drinking age.
And the right to set your own drug laws.

We would be much further ahead to give up Albany's strings attached support and unleash the floodgate of economic activity that would result from autonomy. Do you have any idea how many businesses moved across state lines just a few miles in order to serve NY customers but not die under her oppression?

This is proof positive that government lovers are right. If only we had a bit more government, everyone would have jobs. St Lawrence county is the cutting edge of the future.

Precisely. We can trash big ED all we want the fat needs to be trimmed at the government and political level.

This figure will be done some soon when the State shuts down OCF and transfers inmates to other parts of the State.. Logically speaking the State cannot affort the put the sixteen million into this prison to update it... In talking to a rep of Sen.Ritchies office it seems it will happen within the next 18 months

10:53, big education is part of the same pile of BS.

Somewhere in St. Lawrence county there is a person who doesn't recognize their very own contribution to this demographic.

Where do you teach 10:53?
