WDT:Former Watertown resident to run for Supreme Court in Oswego County ?

          When headlines don't match.
Mr. Gilbert is running for Supreme Court Justice in the Fifth Judicial District which includes Oswego and five other counties. He is not running for Supreme Court Justice in Oswego County.
Now if you accept the informal "gentleman's agreement" on who gets to run, you may think it's an Oswego County seat, but to be technically correct, it's not.  But the public doesn't know any of this, so whatever.

This is the real reason they don't like yoru blob. No editor wants to be skooled by a smug political junky.

You are correct Mr. Mayor. Supreme Court justices are actually district judges but, they are usually assigned to their home county. Each county has a Supreme Court but not necessarily a Supreme Court justice. This was an issue in St. Lawrence County this past election when Justice Farley, the local candidate, faced opposition from three "downstate" candidates. Fortunately, she prevailed in the election and St. Lawrence County was allowed to continue having a local justice.
