Tuesday

Tomorrow at 11AM is the bid opening for the Fairgrounds concession stand. While seven potential bidders expressed interest, it's an iffy proposition due to the construction schedule and the lack of equipment for other than the most basic of foods. The $9500 minimum bid for a stand sight unseen is a high bar.
Councilwoman Teresa Macaluso had a couple minutes as Mayor last night as Mayor Butler left the room while a resolution on bank depositories was passed. Ms. Macaluso is the Mayor Pro Tem due to seniority.
Time Warner News stopped by the HOTLINE today to see if me being freed of the rhetorical constraints of office has changed the show. I tried to put on a good show for Brian.
Tonight Scott Gray will be chosen Chair of the Board of Legislators.  I think I will have Sherwood send a congratulatory arrangement.

Min $9500? I would have to sell a lot of Cracker Jacks to get that back. Well someone has an idea, I would think. Tacos and cheap hotdogs sure won't do it.

What a waste of $$ for a small business. That whole area down there has been nothing short of controversy and disappointment. Without the ability to sell beer at a couple of concerts someone is about to take a bath...especially when you consider the time you have to put in.

Now that's strange. Must have been a slow news day for Time Warner.

Do you suppose Mr. Gray has the same appreciation for what it is like to run a business as you do? I mean, you couldn't throw a stone without hitting a competitor in the bar business. But how many places are there to buy flowers?

Do you suppose having a lack of competition influences his willingness to have the tax payers write a blank check to JCC every year, like Bourney Sanders would do?

No one bid on this I see...smart people. This whole process was a disaster from the start. That whole department over there needs to be re-staffed. They continuously oversell the public and basically rip them off on speculation. Time for that to be a stand alone department and privatized all the way around.
