A large crowd of revelers gathered at a 7/11 store in Chino Hills, CA to celebrate that one of three winning tickets in the largest lottery ever was sold there.
The other two tickets were sold in Florida and Tennessee. In each case the lucky ticket holder will receive one third of $1.6B or if they take the cash value of the annuity, about $310M each.
Luckily, all three states in play do not tax lottery winnings meaning only the federal tax is due.
If the winner had lived in NY, well it would have cost them about $26M in taxes.
