Parking Ticket Bonanza in DC

Over 5200 parking tickets issued and over $1.3M in fines collected. Over six hundred cars towed. All during the storm weekend in the Nation's Capital.
Depending on your viewpoint, it's proactive law enforcement making the bad guys pay for the storm response..Or its an overbearing government preying on people during adversity.
Did they chalk the tires first ?

Nonsense, you know they have to have the streets clear to remove the snow otherwise it is just a worse mess than if they didn't plow at all.

Just like our helicopter mom's at Knickerbocker, all will be dismissed. You can't expect people who drive a Lexus to be troubled with parking laws, do you?

912.. I agree with you.. Its simple bullshit by Graham making his point.. They were warned for days to keep the streets clean.. Its a case of whoever is in charge doing their job and a good one..
Controversy over the FBI and the gunfight yesterday is simple bs also.. FBI did their job. The radicals got what they wanted headlines

I see what you did there, comparing this to the cars parked illegally here in Watertown on Washington st. Nicely played!
The Dulles SOB workers should get a kick out of that and make time during their busy workday to post a response.
Heck even the new councilman may enjoy the humor!
I've seen a ticket under his wiper on a few occasions.

Graham, how dare you imply the ticket writers should be lenient? Just because it was a state of emergency and no one could move their cars, is not an excuse not to move them anyway. How are these fine officers going to help pay for their pensions and OT if they don't write tickets to everyone but other cops and those related to other cops?

And if anyone disagrees shame on you! You could have taken the civil service test and thrown your life away writing stupid tickets but instead you chose to do something more productive. You are just jealous, all of you!

Real intelligent 3:46,but there were days of knowing this storm was coming, the tickets do nothing for the officers pensions, that is a lie,if you needed to go to the store and can't get through snow choked streets because your neighbors ignored the warnings,I just bet you would be lenient on them..then again, you would be going nuts, more likely.

Sure 7:27, all those evil parking ticket perps had to do, was listen to the weather, panic every time they hear there might be a storm and call in sick to keep their cars out of the way of your dumb ass. Makes sense to no one but you, but hey... you're the man with the badge so you know best. I'm sure those tickets on the windshields solved the plow issue in seconds flat. Now all we got's to do is pretend those ridiculous pensions that LE get, have nothing to do with the big bucks they rake in from writing tickets and confiscating "drug dealer's" stuff. Hope they got overtime to write those parking tickets...they deserve it.

Would respond that you are quite clearly a moron,743,but that would be an egregious insult to morons everywhere. You keep on being stupid, wouldn't expect anything less from someone of your obviously limited mental capacity.
