Nothing Like a Hot Joe...or Josephine

The Brew Ha Ha on Coffeen Street carved out a nice niche when it first opened and now there are lots of drive through coffee spots.
With some rebranding and a modified business model, the one on Coffeen Street may come alive again.  We'd like to see this busy corner bustle again.
There is said to be strong interest in the shop owned by Councilwoman Macaluso.

With the ridiculous asking price in this market I don't see it happening Jeff.

Busy corner but they need to acquire the wooded lot behind the shop that would make it more valuable . Mr. coppola had a small green wood shingled home there in the 60s, I remember him stopping at Charlie Capones grocery on coffeen to buy De Nolbie Cigars , they were all great neighbors.

I liked the uniforms you showed, Jeff. Pity you took the pic down.

Was she from Garrett's Tilted Kilt?

It pains me to think Ms. Macaluso will benefit from this sale if it sells or reopens. she really needs to rethink her constituents support since she rudely made the comment: "here we go again" on Tuesday nights council meeting. Listen to the weed production's stream of the meeting.. right at the beginning when there was privilege of the floor she said it under her breath which was on the microphone as the Dog Park guy was getting up to address the council. He is a taxpayer and has every right to do what he does.. she should support that and those like him who might have given her the job in the first place.. bet she doesn't run again for re-election.. no doubt..

As an elected member of council Ms. Macaluso speaks for her constituents. She certainly did, if that was her comment. Or at least 99.9% of them.
We are taxpayers too, Gates, and have every right to oppose a dog park in Thompson Park. Majority rules, you lose. Stop grandstanding, this is about you loving the limelight, not dogs.

Bikini baristas in Watertown ? Will the entire staff of Club Rio quit to come work there ? That's the entire inventory of people who should be wearing bikinis in public in Watertown.

Wrong 5:35. Although I agree with everything else you say, she has to be above the stupidity of a person like that and just keep professionalism in mind. I think it's important for this new group to be ultra positive. The negativity that oozed out of the old council and crept into the city manager and the rest of the clown posse was very apparent over the past couple of years. I am with you on Gates, but, that's not a way for a councilperson to act.

Now that kind of staffing and uniforms would make whatever the arena concession stands sells a hit!!!! Bring back that picture!

9.29 and friends. I agree you have to let every little person talk their peace. But also it their responsibility to have something new. Not the same information, no plan, and no future for what they have wanted for eight years. Wouldn't you be sick of it? Bla Bla Bla, no plan, no money, no hope, and no one else saying they want the same thing. The Factory sight had plans drawn up, money coming in, and support. I want someone to address that. What happened there? Just because Jeff wasn't re-elected, it goes away? It was voted in. I never saw a vote to end it.

Now back to what the post was. Go coffee.

There has got to be a period to the end of this dog park thing. Someone go back the 9 years please and add up the hours city staff have spent on this issue so we can see what a waste of time its been. What makes this goofball the deciding factor or subject matter expert? Good for Mayor Butler for taking a stand for this right up front. He told Gates that when he was running. Stick to your guns on this Mayor Butler. SG, if you don't like the answer run for council next election.

9:29, you do realize that 3 of 5 and the city manager are still the same people, right? Yes, she probably shouldn't have said it, but lucky I'm not in council it would have been louder.

Its 2016 NOW !!! The dog park Proposal is Past History , We need to concentrate on all the little small repair Jobs around the city that are being put on the back burner or swept under the rug . I have a dog and take him to the park weekly and don't need the city council wasting tax dollars on play ground for him.

I think Miss M will get what she wants for the coffee shop , she just needs to sit tight while the economy is slowly starting to make a rebound and property prices are slowly inching up after the overbuilding we had going on in the area.
