Insurance May Pay For Vanduzee Fire Cleanup | WWNY TV 7

Well, news takes a while to surface. I knew this when I was still in office and ran into a guy doing research on the property value for CNA , the insurance company.

Because  the City acquired the Vanduzee Street warehouses and didn't let the tax sale certificate languish, the property was covered at least for 180 days. If it had burned under other ownership....good luck...
That means whoever burned it down got it demolished all or part on CNA's dime. The arsonist was never identified.

What arsonist? Maybe if the WPD put as much effort into solving real crimes as they do handing out parking tickets we would have an arsonist sitting in jail now. just sayin

Well, that should open up a whole new list of suspects to question now that there was monetary gain to be had.

They should have at least questioned each firefighter in the city and the surrounding volunteers

Anytime I turn in an insurance claim, I end up paying back the claim amount, in the form of increased premiums, over about five years. I do love a free lunch, but insurance claims are not a free lunch.
