DN: Wage Rally Isn't Here, But It Affects Here

It's happening in NYC so that may not be considered local news up here, but since the City is the political center of gravity in NY, the Cuomo encouraged  rally for the $15 an hour wage is significant.
Mr. Cuomo is pushing hard and so far winning. Polls back him and pols do to.
If it were a zero sum game that might be OK. In other words the elites make a bit less so the little guy can have more. This is income redistribution and it comes at a time when income disparity is widening.
This won't really accomplish that, but the "Fight for $15" rally is worth watching to see how raucous it is and who shows up.

$15/hr may be relevant in the NYC metro area, however that would kill all other region especially rural upstate. There is no such ting as a free lunch (or money in this case), its going to come out of somebodies pocket. The elites courted by political leaders will simply pass it on to working/middle case.

This is the end of the middle class as we know it, cue REM.

7:40 has a good point. But who cares if it kills upstate NY. We are not part of the power structure in this state. All we ever send to Albany are maids.

1058 makes a good point commenting on his own post.

His kind destroyed any structure NY ever had. Now we need to send legislators to Albany to clean up their messes.

1058.. Your right, but what do we do about that.? Ritchie and Blankenbush dont support minimum wage and we voted them in. Addie does support it. Addie is in the majority so we can continue to elect Ritchies and Blankenbushs in the minority and get nothing or start electing more majority politicans.. The other way out is up to Ritchie and Blankenbush to introduce legislation to seperate us from NYC and we could have a chance.. But that cant work unless they do their job which they dont. They are there for a free ride and we all know it.

What stands out the most about these dishonest democrats, other than the obvious, is that they propose two minimum wages, one for NYC and one for the rest of us. Yet, at the end of the progression, NYC will have the same wage as the rest of us. The democrats can't have it both way. Either NYC deserves more or they don't. Don't pass a law that gives NYC more for five years and then puts them at the same as us afterward.
