Diners Could See Price Increases, Restaurant Owner Says | WWNY TV 7

       The effect of the change in wages to tipped workers is mainstream news now. It's gone from mention on a blog, to a well done newspaper story, then a TV story that the major aggregator can link to.

         Doesn't always happen that way, but when it does, the reason for blog hatred is apparent.

This really isn't rocket science. FreeStuff is never declined, no matter what damage it does. And the Benitos of the world have so much taxpayer money in their pockets they will never feel the pinch. So it's a win win situation. Only the middle class will be stung. You know, those dumbasses who work for a living but are still controlled by Albany. I love that win win BS.

Wait - an unintended consequence, an unexpected consequence? How could this be. Albany did NOT see this coming! They just thought that biznes owners would absorb the higher costs right?

As Cuomo said "The numbers don't add up" and he was right. Now consumers will see their purchasing power shrink if they still have jobs. As for me, I will consume less of restaurant fare.

I guess what the Republicans say is Middle Class businessmen cant figure out anything. If I,m forced to pay $15.00 per hour thats fine.. I then put a sign up in my eatery stating absolutely no tipping please.. That way the customer can still get a good meal without any raise in my prices.. No law states you must tip, it only done because of the subwage they are now paid... Can anyone agree on that

The first commenter is right,they are making it more and more difficult to live here for the working class.Just got a nice twenty dollar increase on my auto insurance premium,and called the insurance agent,who told me it is due to increased fees from NYS charged to the insurance company.The only ones left in this state after a while will be the rich,the government workers,and the welfare folks who get everything paid for.

@10:10
Why would servers settle for $15/hr and no tips when they were making $20 to $60 with tips? I guess a liberal who's never run a business can't figure that out.

What they did figure out is that they can tax the full $15.00 but if the worker only reports $10.00 but their tips take it up to $20-$30 an hour that the Libs aren't getting their full cut of the unreported income.

Went out last night. Noticed it was different in all ways at our fav. Chinese place. Yes we let the Nanny State ruin yet another way of life in NYS.
