DeFrancisco Says No $15 This Year

A key Senate Republican in Albany says there will be no $15 an hour wage passed this year, but don't be so sure. With the wage board mandating that figure in one industry and state and municipal workers getting $15 in most cases, it will be hard to justify a crazy quilt minimum wage. That is the Governor's strategy.
In addition it may be a campaign issue, especially in the special Senate election in April for the Skelos seat on the Island.
It's sure to pass the Assembly and as with the SAFE Act and SSM, it only takes a couple GOP Senators to get it passed there.
