Andy to Have Contest for Best Municipal Consolidation Plans

Governor Cuomo is planning to offer $20M in awards to the communities with the best consolidation plans. There are 10,500 taxing jurisdictions in NY.  I think the Governor would like to see things like Carthage and West Carthage combined, or maybe fewer towns or school districts.
      Don't hold your breath.

The best Benito could hope for is to find a way to put a small town on wheels and get it the hell out of NY. Free states are always preferable to ones run by maniacal dictators.

According to Dr. Phil "How's that working out for you" you Donkey fools. First Luvy Duvy Guv Andy Dandy is using your money and then proposing you all fight to have your little fifedom consolidated.

You want to get your face kicked in or turn around and get your a## butt kicked?

But that's ok, Addie & Little Carl are most concerned with Fairness for Women's euality and how much of your money will be directed for the schools down in NYC. Continuation of what Addie's Boss demanded all money be directed to those challenged schools down in the city and the hell with upstate. Right Addie? And Deede S and Hubby Lifesaver Town Mayor are just as involved. Keep groveling for the crumbs libtards, meanwhile they take care of themselves first.

What Andy wants is to get rid of all the democracy and voting that burdens municipalities by dissolving them and replacing them with Authorities such as DANC or Tug Hill Commission. Come to think of it, he already did that for the most part.

So we have a regular Dr. Phil viewer attempting to connect him somehow with Andy. Then another blaming Andyfor the Republican run DANC. What next, telling us that the idiots in Oregon are helping gun owners somehow? Jeez Louise...

6:01, try to keep up. DANC is run as well as any uncountable bureaucracy could hope to be. What does how DANC is run have to do with the uncountable undemocratic power given to these authorities and the control they exercise over local municipalities?

Any place where there is both a Village and Town board should consolidate immediately.

There goes 9:56, with typical centralized consolidated government ignorance. Each and every time that municipalities are consolidated, they become less efficient, more bureaucratic and wasteful. Every study that reports consolidation to be cheaper does not take into account the extra charges from trash, and utility services.

It is all a big scam pushed by the engineering industrial complex to get more work building bigger costly municipal barns, offices and utilities, at the expense of the tax payer. Just look at the city of Watertown as the example of how a city of 25k can spend $40 million per year and still give worse service than a village gives at a fraction of the price. Consolidate and soon every town would have a unionized library with a security guard who doesn't speak English.

We ain't got no trash service 1:19. As fer utility service, how does a consol effect National Grid? All two sets of guvarmints does is cost $. But if we didn't have them then some would not have taxpayer paid benefits and pension.

Sounds like you must be a village, city or town employee or maybe with the County?

You don't know me and I sure don't want to know you.

Did you notice when the dreaded C word is banted around people get Defensive, Here's a thought and Joanie M did this down south in Syracuse, she pre-emptied the sales tax agreement to force consolidation, The County could do the same, and force Villages who have no real mission only to collect taxes and give jobs to their friends............

@5:22 Utilities include water sewer cable natural gas. The things the engineerring companies make millions pushing.

I would never work for the govenrment. I own properties in many villages and in the COW. The small villages are much better to deal with and much cheaper tax wise. The larger villages are worse and worse of all the the larges city in the county. Can you connect the dots and see what happens when you consolidate or are you still too suborn? Or perhaps it is YOU who works for a municipality or engineering firm? Or maybe you are a a volunteer at one of the village libraries and you want to go union like the city of Watertown?
Or maybe you want to add a diversity coordinator?
Face the truth, bigger is not better when it comes to these local governments.

9:17 is half right. The county should threaten to reduce the sales tax agreement of any municipality that consolidates if it has more than 100 people in it.
