WDT: Guns are now killing as many people as cars in the U.S.

Isn't this one of those apples and oranges headlines we expect from the MSM ? And to be truthful, neither cars or firearms are killing people. They are inanimate objects.

Watertown Daily Times | Guns are now killing as many people as cars in the U.S.

Right you are mayor.
To list the gun as cause is ridiculous.
A guy who murdered his grandmother using a baseball bat,
sets fire to lure first responders and shoots them dead on Christmas eve. If you want to list the cause of the death the first and foremost cause is that democrats vote to let people like that out of prison after a mere ten years.
Likewise, as people kill themselves with guns at record numbers, it is no coincidence that SSRI antidepressants are being prescribed at record numbers, coinciding with these increased gun suicides.

Multiply those gun death rates by ten and then double that number again you it will still be less than die from HOSPITAL ERROR every year.

This latest puke slant came via the Washington Post. A source right up there with the Watertown Daily Rag for unbiased reporting. What was not discussed was the fact that two thirds of all gun deaths are suicides. One third are the result of crime. The total deaths from crimes and homicide was 11,000, a number that has remained constant for almost ten years. Before panties get too wet over this, consider the fact that medical errors is credited with killing 400,000. And this number continues to rise every year. The spin of media requires that we add suicide to the number of gun deaths. Logic, probably rare on most golf courses, would suggest that people who don't have access to guns just might, per se, seek another method. Maybe not, maybe it's the gun's fault for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. I hear that puke so much I had to say it. But the numbers are undeniable. You are almost 40 times more apt to be killed by improper medical treatment than by a gun. If you place suicide into the mix, you are 14 times more likely to be killed by your doctor. It does get complicated when you try to blame objects for deaths. But fools will never stop trying to slant the discussion. When compared to vehicle accidents, gun deaths are a steady one third of that total. I don't expect facts like this to change anyone's mind about this. We all pretty much have our minds made up. But lying about the numbers serves no one. In the age of the Liar in Chief and his media cheerleaders, it has become too common a practice.

Mr. Graham is correct.

Like guns, cars don’t kill people, people kill people. Cars just make it easier. It is especially valiant of him to point that out.

We obviously need to ban hospitals....this is OUTRAGEOUS !
And if a person gets caught with an "assault stethoscope"
they need to be placed on the 'No-Fly' list and have their
Eighth Amendment rights violated.

Actually, most of those suicides are part of medical mistake.
Not just from antidepressants that make matters worse but from addictive drugs handed out to people prone to addiction leads to many suicides.

Guns make killing easy, swift and relatively certain .. try outrunning a bullet and see.

hey 9:20, enough with the golf course references! They are totally irrelevant. What is your deal, anyway??

I don't agree, 5:59. Most of this gun stuff is puked by Democrats, big city leaders where black on black crime is rampant. Our golf course man is a champion of such blather. You call my posts irrelevant, but today our man wants us to "try outrunning a bullet". Not much relevance in that. Just plain emotional grandstanding. Merry Christmas.

I disagree with 5:59 too. The golf course reference is the perfect way to articulate the absurdity of the donkey stance. It is poetry.

10:40 is right. Outrunning bullets is a stupid point to make. Not as dumb and inaccurate as saying that gunshots are an "almost certain" to kill, but dumb nonetheless.

Golly gee dannie...guess what kind of gun was used in Watertown's latest murder? A knife! Why didn't the victim outrun the knife?
Meanwhile your president is letting "non violent" drug dealers out of prison.
Tell us true Danny...why is it that someone who sells illegal drugs that will be sure to kill a percentage of the customers would not be considered violent? Are those drug deaths the non violent type?

He's a simple, jealous, bigot 659. He was born clueless and grew to embrace it in 'adulthood'. :D

D:>>^, please try to say something with a fact or two included. There is nothing there to respond to. There isn't even a "6:59" poster here. You're a better person than this.

If every gun on the. Planet was gone today, we would switch to sharp objects To continue our killing. We can not help it.

Maybe we could do the muslim thing, 2:17. Just stone people. If you bury people halfway into the ground, you won't be able to outrun a rock either.

Lady in Vegas proved cars are deadly too over the weekend. Ban them? Why ban guns, knives, and or cars? With some basic training I could kill with my hands. Killing is breed into some of us. Nothing to do but hope they get someone else.

Take the murders that are committed by crazy, whacknut praise Allah nutcases and then subtract inner city killings...gang related etc..then give me a number. It is hard to corral both of those groups. America does NOT have a gun problem. Two particular groups that happen to have feet on our ground do. This is propaganda at it's finest.
