Executive hubris has been an increasing part of government for decades, and the Governor is certainly extending the trend with his "wage board" pronouncements on minimum wage.
However, in criticizing Mr. Cuomo, we should remember virtually all governments have been placed in the hands of unelected executives with sweeping powers.
From School Superintendents, to City , County, Town and Village Managers, to agencies and authorities accountable to no one, this has been the trend all along with the concurrent diminution of the role and stature of elected representatives.
It is disturbing what the Governor has done on wages, but hardly unexpected or out of character in today's world.
On a lighter note. Is criticizing "Cuomo's fiats" an ethnic slur ?
