"Oppressed" Students Demand Scalps in Manifesto for Change at SUNY Potsdam

A group of SUNY Potsdam students have thought up an acronym  (P.OW.E.R.)....The "O" stands for oppressed.
They want two administrators including the dean of students fired, and they have other demands too on issues of diversity and policy.
College President Kristin Esterberg will be meeting with the activists.
SUNY officials have dithered on all of this for months and allowed this distraction to education to fester.
That said, no one will be losing their cushy jobs in academia. Christmas break is coming and not soon enough for the college brass.

Potsdam's President is pandering to the grinning from ear to ear students who are leading this offensive. Who will pay for all this? The taxpayers now and when these loser morons try to enter the workforce with seriously lacking skillsets and seriously flawed value sets.

That place is no more than a poorly supervised day care center. If I had a kid going there, I'd rip them out and put them on the hire list for the new arena.

What the heck is going on at Potsdam? The demonstrations and outrageous demands are becoming the fodder for the next antagonist to write a note. Without care and deliberate guidance demonstrations to support a particular racial subset, cross a threshold into alienating other subsets. Casual supporters and sympathizers with be turned off by hard line rhetoric that goes too far. As the old saying goes, "be careful before you burn your bridges, you might them one day."

I can agree with them for once. Fire a few of the higher ups. Replace them with Watertown's city manager. She has shown a great example of how to handle a rabble rousing misbehaving person. You make an example out of them and you use your legal authority to fix the situation by removing the problem. In this case they need to ban the misleading lying media and a few students. The other students should fall in line. If they don't, they could remove all 25 of the students who are protesting, (the ones that the media is pretending are 100 in number).

They should crack open a book and learn what oppressed really means.

IMHO ,classic case of impoverished leadership, mayor.

Leadership acts decisively after a reasonable dialogue with "reasonable representatives " of any negotiaing group . It does not cave to mob psychology .

Interests are sorted through during the process rather than emotional demands .Often a BATNA occurs i.e. Best Alternative to a (potentially ) Negotiated Agreement . But the point is the situation does not fester and continually detract from organizational effectiveness, mission or momentum

The captain of the ship is responsible period . Leadership and accountability starts at the top .Ithaca College and it s president and board did not cave ,made required adjustments and the issue has

Hopefully SUNY gets its act together .

Spoiled little kids, throwing a temper tantrum. Hey, it works. All kinds of political BS works. How bout the War on Womyn? Proof positive that if you repeat a lie often enough, some dumbasses listen.

By demanding counselors, administration and faculty of a particular race it insinuates that people cannot have empathy outside of ones race. If races will not longer work together for a common goals then the efforts for civil rights morph into some less civilized.

Preferential treatment of one race over another even to correct inequities or discrimination can be difficult if not completely unfair. As tables turn previous victims rarely if ever forego retribution. Look at what the Shittes did to the Sunnis in Iraq, that mess is not going to end soon or well.

I do not beleive it is appropriate to headline this: "Demand Scalps". How dare you mention anything whatsoever that is not directly related to your own race? You have no idea how this may make other people "feel" because as per the WDT-OP-Ed one must be of a class and creed, to feel their pain.

Sounds like a bunch of horse shit to me, but I guess I would have to be a horse to feel that.
