Editor Doesn't Like Job Stefanik is Doing...No, Not That Editor

Then Candidate Elise Stefanik in Ogdensburg
The fellow who backed the Green candidate last year, is seeing red when it comes to Rep. Elise Stefanik's bid for a second term.   The lefty editor of the Glens Falls Post Star came out of an E-board meeting with guns blazing.
Ken Tingley argues the MOC for NNY hasn't done enough to correct a flawed foreign policy and that she hasn't done enough to halt sexual assaults in the military.
Ken, the job is "representitive",  not savior.
Most coverage of Ms. Stefanik's first year has been positive, citing hard work and attention to local issues.
Mr. Tingley dismissed her efforts on Fort Drum as "cheerleading".
I like the Post Star's political coverage and in Maury they actually have someone with political cred covering the topic.
Frankly the job of editors is not to provide succor to the comfortable, but it seems Mr. Tingley is one voter not on the Stefanik list of high propensity supporters.
Still, you have to listen to all, and that's why we linked to his column, even though I differ on the overall assessment of her first year, which I thought exemplary.

She is doing great at being half democrat and half republican. But if there is one thing that Hoffman showed us, there are plenty of responsible people here who want a more conservative candidate. Cosnerivitve on spending.
As far as the clueless editor goes...he certainly meets the job requirements. Hopefully president Trump tamps down some of these left wing media mouthpieces. Not like Lincoln did to his critics, but instead do things like take away "paper of record" privileges, access to tax free bonds and sales tax free advertising.

Our 21st rep has always had their eyes on a bigger piece of Washington, our current rep is no different, she realizes the current anti-Obama rhetoric won't last, like McHugh is eying a bigger prize.

I as well as many in the community see this as being very positive for Rep. Stefanik, when the left media hates her so vehemently then we know she is doing the job she was sent to do.

Perhaps she should fight fire with fire and post on her page all our boys who have been killed with Obama's reckless or non existence or lead from behind strength that he himself touts to his lapdog media friends. What about our six killed service members that were killed looking for the deserter Bergdhal.

Cheerleading for Ft. Drum, give us a friggin break Mr. Leftie Editor, Obama has taken our military and friendly foreign nations and essentially destroyed anything he has touched for what? His view of the Christian Crusades hundreds of years ago still needs to be taken to task? Fighting for Ft. Drum betters everyone in the District.

Leftie Editor just doesn't get that everyone in the military community understands what Rep. Stefanik has accomplished, her relationships she has built. Give her time, she will be part of rebuilding the military, reestablishing relationships, has she not already started meeting with Heads of Foreign Countries, Afganistan, Saudia Arabia, Egypt, Jordon. I don't ever recall Owens, or Mchugh ever mentioning their accomplishments in this area.

Got to give the young lady credit and this to the detriment of the donkeys it is much as fault of the media not touting her vast public domestic and foreign policy that she was very involved in during her stint at the Whitehouse. Instead they want her to issue the false and misleading sexual harassment numbers that the military has to produce at the behest of the Big O. As Cruz stated Obama is more interested in producing and protecting a fine homosexual military instead of defending America and it's interest.

So the media fell for Doheny's cheerleading label and as well ran with that foolhardy angle, mistake mistake mistake.

Honestly Jeff, When you first met Rep. Stefanik did you have any idea of her vast and hands on and underreported experience in all these areas she has been successful. She seems to have a impenetrable wall built around her with people from very high up with real relationships.

Sure she could be more conservative but you play the hand you are dealt and to rebuild the economy aka tax reform or rebuild the military we have to give back to the Big O for his crony environmentalist wack job supporters.

Mr. Leftie Editor is only trying to help Mr. Leftie Candidate now the schnoz that doesn't know he is the latest schnook to run against her.

Sad the Leftie Editor would now be run out of any jschool since he would not be able to teach to this entitled generation he himself has had a hand in creating. Creating turmoil within the masses still works al la Saul Alinsky but they are reaping what they have sowed.

Glad the Editor is still seeing red in this Red District, tsk tsk, get the hankies out big boy.

Typical of small town liberal media bias but is not half as bad as the Washington Post Editor saying the cartoon of Cruz's little daughters drawn as monkeys pulling Cruz on his sleigh were gosh not to be seen as offensive. Just an oversight, oversight. The cartoonist couldn't admit that had it been Malia or Shasa Obama being drawn as monkeys why that would have not been viewed as racist.

Very few media sources are not fully owned by the golf party. That's why many pros hate and fear Fox News so much. That's why they get soaked over anything they report. It really is pretty simple. Golfers everywhere are used to all media singing the same song.

I couldn't help but laugh when I read this. For someone who is supposedly so schooled in the ways of politics Tingley's expectations of a first term representative in a sea of 435 voting elected officials are absolutely absurd. Insanely absurd actually. What else can we blame on Stefanik? What else can we criticize her for not fixing??? Let's see...she didn't stop the bloodshed in Paris. Where was she? How come she didn't identify the terrorists before they attacked, then fly to Paris and take them down herself? Where was she, huh? She clearly can do better.

Well, I ain't no lefty, but I for one, am not impressed. All her accomplishments are nickel and dime stuff. We are still 18 trillion in debt and CLIMBING. That's 18 trillion of OUR money they haven't even taken from us yet. (and if I understand what I hear and read correctly, that is not even close to the true debt we owe) Obamacare is still on the books with the resulting shambles it has left our health care system in. The house just passed a "budget" that makes no attempt what-so-ever to reduce spending.

We haven't heard so much as a whimper out of her on any of these subjects. Gee, she helped get a bill passed that removes micro beads from make-up. Yippeee-Skippeee. Ho hum. SNORE!

The republicans continue to fiddle, as they have been doing for 40 years, while Rome burns in an ever increasing inferno.

"Well, if we can just take the White House THEN we can get something done". BULLSPIT!! The last time you had both houses and the White House you did the same as you were doing before, the same as you have done since, and the same thing you are doing now, which is NOTHING!!!!!!

The paper should kiss her butt. Her step into the race added so many dollars to their pockets. Plus her next run will too. Without her we would have had the same old two party, good old boy, run.

Danny M. Francis (Eyepublius) said...

Those who like her and support her tend to "pick and choose" pieces about her to pay a kudo -- when in fact her entire record and performance must always be considered in full - plus the tons of money from outside the district (billionaire Paul Singer in NYC to cite one) ... that is not representation we have, deserve, or need. Not in my view at least.

Dan, you've got to give up your outside money gripe when it comes to national elections. The House of Representatives is an office that affects the nation, thus outside funds are inevitable. And our district is not particularly affluent so we are considered low hanging fruit to the deep pocket outsiders. Their money can trump the local funds by many multiples so they feel they have the potential to have an even stronger influence in our district. You can complain until the cows come home that these funds "ruin" the election but these outside funds are here to stay. It just is what it is. Complaining on blogs certainly isn't going to chance campaign finance laws. The hope is that these groups support a candidate that truly does care about his or her constituents and not just national interests. I strongly believe that Stefanik does just that.

Time to elect a real conservative.

Outside money cry-babying aside, the elections turned out EXACTLY the same as they would even if not a penny of outside money came in. Voters hated Wolfie before a dime was spent and were never going to change their minds. Voters were lukewarm on Fratty Matty before a dime was spent. Voters liked Stefanik before a dime was spent. Communist democrats felt love for the commie baker right off the bat, but over half of democrats don't vote for anyone but democrats...EVER...no matter how much money you spend, so money didn't effect his winning.

You have to forgive dannie because he knows himself to be extremely influenced by the content of a 30 second political commercial and therefore he assumes the rest of the voters are too.

2:08 - Who would that real conservative be?

2:08 makes a good point. 8:41 makes a better point.

The local wanted their boy to win. That's all it is. They can not let it go.

Without her a man with a fake marriage, fake baby, and fake nice guy would have won it all. Said he was one of us, born here, and more. I am glad she saved us from that. Don't care if she does a darn thing. Danny please, everyone spent outside money on that election. Even the town hero.

2:08, 8:41 and 10:41 you'r the same individual, who ya kidding?

Tingley is butthurt he doesn't wield an ounce of meaningful political influence and shows (once again) how clearly out of touch he is with the district. Elise is doing a fine job, as a first-termer, and at only 31. She's been able to immediately do some very good and meaningful things, brings more attention to our district.

and lets not forget Paul Ryan is the youngest and MOST CONSERVATIVE Speaker of the House in generations.

plus his age and gender insults are pathetic.

Has anyone really read that awful piece by the white aged liberal editor? Not sure what his problem is whether he doesn't like women, but he does push lefty Gillibrand agenda. Maybe cause Gillibrand's approval numbers are dropping like a rock in the district. So the Editor is A OK with our young daughters having to shower or use the same restrooms with freaky transgender young boys whose mommies whether they are hetrosexuals or lesbians just hate male little boys and Stefanik just doesn't or won't knockle down to h is level. What a jerk.

I would like to see this next adminisration (of course it won't be Hilldabeast) rehire the many hundreds of Generals that Obama has fired! And I want to see this fine young lady if she has to be the
'cheerleader' (thanks loads Matty, ugh) having the megaphone and using her position on the armed service committee to do it.

You go Girl.

It is funny how this "race" still gets the most responses. I took the negatives to be from Democrats. But some people had to find it in them to bash Doheny. All bad things taken into account Doheny has done more for this area than those posting negative things about him. That being said I am a Stefanik supporter so don't go bashing me. Just try to grow up and get a life.

2:57AM Well said, but and this is a big but, there seems to be a pocket or two here and there of a number of disenfranchised Democrat men that constantly post the most unusual claims regarding Stefanik.

I believe at one point that rag was on Stefanik's back about not addressing the sequesteration that was put into place at the hands of their own party. We then find that The President and the entire Democrat party including our two Democrat Senators again voted down the last two military budgets, lo and behold the sequesteration is lifted. I had read somewhere that Stefanik was the only freshman on the arm service committee to work and push through the budget between the House & Senate. Anyone hear a word of thanks by Tingley who is now crying the blues that Stefanik doesn't jump on board to the alledged and inflated sexual assults that are not occurring in the military.

Tingley, she is doing more than fine
