WDT: Convergys Employing Record Numbers as New Year Dawns

Downtown Watertown is home to the area's largest non-public (including health care) employer as the Convergys call center employs 900 people and that may grow to over one thousand.
The firm supplies round the clock phone support for various companies and the former Wooworth store recently underwent significant remodeling.
Convergys (formerly Stream) has provided varying levels of employment but clearly has become a mainstay of the city's economy.
Hopefully it will remain so for many years to come.

Do you think it will say open if the minimum wage goes to $15/hr in NYS?

Sure it will 751. The taxpayers will foot the bill, as we have since the place opened.

Well 650 the wage mentioned when they first came was $15 an hour, it fell short, yet got rewarded with millions in GRANTS, and they don't even own the building...
