City spent $1 million trying to fire this teacher — and failed | New York Post

Labor relations is expensive when you have someone you want to fire but can't. The City of NY spent over one million dollars trying to fire a teacher and the courts gave him his job back with a quarter million in back pay.

Its a lot cheaper to do around here.

9:22, it should be a lot cheaper anywhere. But remember, we keep incompetent, lazy teachers for only one reason. The children.

Well done Libtards, well done. Sad that this lazy incompetent teacher is found to be competent to be put in front our kids.

Party loyalty above anything.

Small reminder that the teachers union outlay major contributions to the Libtard party well beyond the NRA.

No, it's not a lot cheaper around here. If you think so, try and get an incompetent teacher fired. Incompetence is NOT considered reason to dismiss. About the only way you can get rid of a teacher outside of messing around with a student, is to eliminate the whole program that teacher taught for a minimum of 7 years. With Ag courses or Industrial Arts you can pull it off. English, history or something like that, it ain't gonna happen. I'm talking about tenured teachers, of course. BTDT.

If you can home school then teachers are NOT required in society! But the teacher unions have caused some states to be almost bankrupt. For a job that you can do at home! Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

10:29, you don't know what you are talking about. Teachers get fired all the time around here and it costs a lot less than a million to do it. The guy who just died this spring in the car accident is a good example of a teacher who was fired. That's why he was driving all the way back from his sub job at Harrisville and fell asleep at the wheel. Which raises the question...if that teacher was sooo bad, why did Harrisville hire him?

Oh well...as long as we have Border Patrol cops busting old people in the head and city secretaries putting uncahsed checsk in her desk until they expire, it won't matter because we can always hate teachers. BTW...reading the story Graham linked to, its not clear why he should have been fired. Just because he was an occupy idiot?

7:18, wise up. Incompetent teachers are always given new jobs in other districts, where no one knows what they did. Are we supposed to feel bad that this guy had to commute to his part time, 9 month job? People do it all the time, except their jobs are usually full time at a lot less pay.

5:30, what do you teach? This explains why you have so much time to post here.

First of all, he was arrested.
Second of all, he teaches at risk kids and was "riling up students during an NYPD presentation at a school town-hall meeting". Not exactly what we should be "teaching" these kids.

7:18,
I do know what I'm talking about. I was involved in trying to get rid of an incompetent teacher in a local school district. And just for the record, our group was told by the school board and an attorney that we could expect to spend over one million in legal fees with very little chance of success. The only recourse we had was to eliminate the Ag program for a minimum of 7 years. Once again, I'll state we are talking about a tenured teacher.

Teachers who are not yet tenured is a completely different situation.

Hey 718 the "uncashed checks" story was part of a witchhunt to cease any union involvement by anyone employed by the COW, odd thing is the CURRENT CM wasn't to familiar with the Taylor Law, and overstepped her bounds, therefore the COW had to hire her back with all pay and benefits due her, The hearing officer found that her punishment was to severe, whats worse uncashed checks in a drawer or a pass on a DWI by the powers that be????????????????
