Children Off Limits for Cartoonist

The Washington Post has "retractred" an editorial cartoon that made fun of Senator Ted Cruz's use of his young daughters in a campaign ad. The cartoon portrayed the two girls as dancing monkeys.
Mr. Cruz called the cartoon out of bounds and the paper's brass agreed.

I may think Cruz is two-faced, fraud of a monkey himself. But mocking ANYONE'S kids, wife, siblings, etc. is crossing that invisible line in the sand. We've seen it often with the First Lady and her daughters. It has somehow become the norm and it should stop.
Shame on WaPo, for allowing this to get as far as it did.

Enter the conspiracy theorist, who say this mess was actually a ploy to help Cruz raise money and get the conversation off Trump. The cartoon was so far out on a limb that conspiracy makes more sense than straight forward criticism. WaPo must really hate Trump to try something this crazy.

I may know that Cruz is one of the best out of a great group of candidates, but his use of his kids to make a political commercial, put them out there as targets for the left wing hypocrit crackpots to take shots at. Its no surprise they did take shots.

So, 3:12 calls him a monkey yet tries to take the high road about the cartoon. Slick. Go play golf.

Canadian born citizens are often family orientated people

Huh 916? Yes I think Cruz is a fraud and incapable of leading. He's not a natural born citizen and insists being called "Ted", though his given name is Rafael Edward Cruz. Why hide from what you are? I can't bring myself to vote for him. Notice I didn't trash his family, etc.?

As for golf, meh... You can keep your kiddie Nintendo games. If you ever wanna spar with me in a ring, now that I'd be completely up for. ;)

The way I see it, if a political candidate uses his or her family as a prop in the campaign then he or she is open to criticism for doing so. And if a spouse plays an active role in the campaign, then he or she is open to criticism regarding what the spouse does or says. When it comes to kids, people should never criticize or insult the children used in the campaign since it's not their decision to be involved but they should ABSOLUTELY criticize the parents for using their child for such an opportunistic purpose.

We saw this stunt pulled here and nobody bought it. Just because you are married and have a child in no way means that you are a good husband or father.

Oh 12:24, what a really stupid way to send a Christmas greeting. Hussein Obama did a dance with his name too, but I'm sure that doesn't bother you. Or was his name Barry, the same guy who attended college as a foreign student. Leave the kids out of it. Simple as that.

As far as wanting to meet me for a spar, please talk it over with little Kathy. She's the one who would have to take care of you afterward.

I'm thinking of taking up golf. See you out there. Merry Christmas.

He puts his kids out there on an attack ad and then calls foul ...laughable

The cartoon was in bad taste and rightly pulled, but Cruz missile is wrong to use his daughters as props in his campaign Ads, too. Meeting kids in public and holding babies and such is traditional -- but having ones own small children in a commercial - well that makes them fair game as it were.

Keep in mind the righties have not been shy about insulting the Obama family ... do a check and see what I mean. One good example here below.

GOPer Staffer to Resign for Insulting Obama Kids

The problem of all the political crapola is that the campaigning is too long! Why are we watching all this political posturing and there is almost a year before we vote? Three months to campaign! - that shorter period would eliminate the tens of millions of dollars thrown around to 'buy' votes.

We all remember a local man taking a baby to fund raisers like a prize out of cracker jacks. Big fail.

If Cruz was a Democrat, this never would have happened. Most everybody, except golfers, admit this.
