WWNY: Alcoa Deal Will Keep Plant Open

Governor Cuomo and Senator Schumer will hold a presser today in Massena and reportedly a deal will be announced to keep Alcoa's west plant open till at least 2018 in exchange for management and union concessions.  The presser is being carried live, an almost unheard of thing in local media.
The aluminum giant had announced closure of the plant setting off a political firestorm.
It's hard to imagine Mr. Cuomo going to Massena if not to announce something. If true, a major plus for Dems in the northern end of the River District.

Yup, we figured if Cuomo was going there, it was to announce that he bribed the plant to stay open...until they decide to close again.

7:12 100% correct. Not sure why he bothers though since he and his party lost every single county in upstate NY except the corrupt capital and county of Albany, NY. And this is what we are paying the economic czar Deede for? It's what we won't hear in the details that are not released to the public that we wind up paying to support these types of deals he arranges.

Addie's days are numbered for sure. We need to drive all the progressives and anyone registered as a Dem. out of upstate NY once and for all

And how much is this going to cost the taxpayers? I'm all for keeping as many jobs as possible in the state. But the way to do that is to make the state business friendly and competitive with other states, not bribery with my money.

That statement has a threatening manner to it and reminds me why Cuomo got the SAFE act passed.. Discontents like yourselves and mentally ill people make up the biggest percentage of those that committ crimes against others in this state.
