Andy Says He Can't Ban Immigrants....

Governor Cuomo says state's cannot ban immigrants. He is correct, but saying you are banning them is apparently good politics in three dozen states.  The federal government determines, for better or worse, immigration policy and a state can't unilaterally ban immigrants once in the country legally.

Bull Ship.
Obama unilaterally stopped deporting immigrants with his executive amnesty.
In the same fassion, the state governors can unilaterally order the state government agencies to stop giving free stuff to immigrants. So while they can't ban them, they can essentially make it not possible to be located here.

But you get a gold star for repeating the MSN lies.

We do not need to stop taking immigrants or refugees. To do so is un-American. We should however screen them as carefully and as best as possible no matter how long that takes. Young men without families are ones to screen carefully. There are lots of ways to accomplish that - we did with "Boat people" fleeing VN - I know I used to debrief them in Pusan, Korea before they were allowed in or continue on their journeys.

Let’s face it, a lot the radical and terrorist acts here are also
"home-grown" and not necessarily by recent immigrants – some, yes; but not most.

Fear and paranoia are very effective tools in a political or military campaign for whatever reason and goal the fear and paranoia makers want to achieve.

Just like the old song by Buffalo Springfield says "For What It's Worth: "Paranoia strikes deep, Into your life it will creep, It starts when you're always afraid..."

Fear sells until we stop buying it ... vigilance, awareness, and being alert are the tools along with effective counter-intelligence and counter-terrorist units we need – not all this political fear and hype for narrow purposes passing as "national security." That’s the worst part and that comes from within too (within DC).

As a Christian, I've been having a difficult time using borders (be it country or state) as a means to deny assistance to a fellow human being.

After considerable thought, it occurs to me that my religion teaches me that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation.

I think I'm "O.K.", then, with denying assistance to Muslims.

Yeah. I can live with that.

I was thinking about this issue and believe Watertown should get on the Federal $ bandwagon and take in refugees. We can solve our zombie house problem and improve the local economy at the expense of the government. It is a win win situation.

Yea, but Minnie Me ObamaCuomo says there is no room in NYS for pro lifers or gun loving patriots. Tolerance for possible terrorists but not for hardworking NY'ers.

The Feds just caught 6 Syrians carrying fake passports trying to come through the southern border!

We can't ban them but we can ban 15 rd mags???

It's funny were told don't blame all the Syrains for the action of a few, but when one person commits a crime with a gun, all gun owners are to blame.....think about it.

Funny how it's these idiots act like it's impossible to export illegals but it's not problem importing Syrian refugees who are ALREADY safe in other countries.

Legalities like the Second Amendment doesn't seem to bother him when it came to the Safe-Act, though, did it?

Dan please! We need to stop spending our hard earned money on the lazy people we already have. We don't need to add to it. They would never leave us, if we let them in. We would be stuck with more people with no skills, no chance of working, and add to the lines of people looking for a hand out. Are we a super foolish country or what?

Dan; Remember when the Bush deficit of 4 trillion dollars was un-American ? You do your best to support the current administration, at all costs. As a veteran, no "Semper-Fi" to you..

Taking them in to keep them safe is okay. But don't bring them to our shores. Keep them on a base over there in the sand. One of our bases where they can feel safe, get a meal, and wait out the civil war. Than return them. Or take them all to Area 51. I think they could tent there very easy. Just like being home. Hot all day, cold at night. Same thing, ticket home after the battles are done. I am for helping the poor, helpless, and the sick. But not for keeping them.
