The mayor's endorsement means little which is why he hasn't given it. Whatever you think of him he is not that dumb.
I missed it. Did Glenn do some research on the Council race? Did his information come from one of his three callers? Which one?
What really matters in the whole deal are voters. The same (few) who vote every time. If you are not part of the few, I laugh at you even commenting. The mayor got it dead on. The same few supporters will put the two current holders of office back into the game. If the new bees did their job and can get someone to the vote they get their shot. Which if you are smart enough (like the Mayor) looks like two the Mayor mentioned. The young lady got out and made sure some young people can vote and should. The more age respected dude made sure he had some people lined up. Easy win. The other two? Who knows? Cory has friends who don't even know he's running. The Mayor is right, you have to show that you can work for it. The other one? Where is he? Is he still running? Why do I give him a vote? To many questions isn't good. So is the mayor silly? Doesn't look like it.
That’s not really fair 11:06pm. Glenn has 4 callers, down from 5 with the Q on hiatus.
Hey Ray,I'm calling B.S. on Cody Horbacz's friends not knowing he's running. Maybe your son just didn't want to listen to you babble? Either way... You're full of it!
Final vote tabulation...14- 12- 4-3-2-1...no one cares in Watertown. It really is a shame though..i commend each for wanting to make a difference in their community
I was counting Q twice, 1:50, so you're right. He usually calls at least a couple times.
Numbers won't lie as far as Cody goes. I don't picture many votes, sorry. Not enough anyway. You don't get it. He needed to get his friends in line to get on and he needs to start kissing my ass and the other long time voters. But he has not worked that hard. If I don't see a person even working hard to win the primary, I have to think he won't work all that hard in the job. Just saying! Little mom has worked real hard. Take a look. She might just be proving herself.
Hey Ray, I'm sure you mistakenly mispelled Cody's name wrong purely by accident, right? Shouldn't you be back at Smith HQ, trying to come up with the proper spin as to why four unrelated individuals are to be living on Ward St. as a family? Or what his opinion is on the 8 year tax-exemption certain businesses may soon be taking advantage of, while my taxes continue to increase? Oh, and what was his opinion about flouride in my water again? You're right. Too many questions is NOT GOOD!
Curry treats SG like the enemy now, its funny to listen too, and that guy lefty is pushing Smith now, but says it doesn't matter what the Mayor thinks, and Glenn Curry is just confused period. He is buying Duff's crap about Jennings and Lafav, because if the establishment can't get Smith re-elected this is the new set of puppets, Lafav hasn't even been unwrapped yet and Jennings is a Republican Party line guy and so the real maverick here may be Cody period!
I didn't spell Cody's name correct the first time because I thought his name was Cory. See that's his weakness, he hasn't stopped by the house and said hello. He counts on Facebook to bring him the win. I'm willing to give the man a shot. But he has to work for it.Glenn had a good show last night, not. Full of fun. I hate to keep it going, but man it was bad. Steve called in and said Blacks had it better back in the old days had a better employment rate. Holy crap Steve! Yes more Blacks were employed cleaning bathrooms...DIP! Please think before you speak man. Maybe there is no racist remarks on your part and just stupid remarks? Sure more Blacks were employed. They were offered every job no one else wanted. I just don't understand the thinking Steve. Maybe you can call today and make that clear?
No there were racist remarks as guy called in from Plattsburgh and said, "Glenn you know you're a racist don't you?" ..."And like what makes you an authority --- a white man --- on the plight of blacks and the effect racism has on them when your spotting you like a lot of whites are afraid of blacks in the first place?" Glenn went into some tirad when you walk out of a play late at night in midtown and you walk down a side-street and get surrounded by blacks fromhood all theat liberal bs goes out the window. like yeah right I guess surrounded means their using the same right of ways so you pull out your unregistered guns and start shooting them down in the street just in case. Glenn Curry racist and proud of it!
Hope everyone in Watertown heard Mr. Jennings interview last night. What a refreshing hour! Mr. Jennings is exactly what Watertown needs right now, someone who can look at the big picture and find solutions instead of micro-managing every little detail of the residents lives!
ANON 7:52 AMEN Brother!
First off... Ray Lear, If you misspelled Cody's name by accident I sincerely apologize. I'm just completely fed-up with the flagrant pandering and shilling from some of the local "media". It appears obvious that they are intent on trying to make these new, hopeful candidates look foolish. Rod LaFave, Cody Horbacz and Jasmine Borreginine, ALL came to my house for signatures on their respective petitions (Sorry Jasmine, I legally know I could only sign for two). All were respectful, well-spoken and answered my questions satisfactorily and asked for my vote. I was non-committal and wished them all the best and went about my business. A few days later Cody, stopped by my house again and asked if I would be willing to help with his campaign. I politely declined, explaining my work requires me to be in Potsdam one day a week and travel to Plattsburgh and NYC at moments notice. Along with three kids, a wife, mortgage, car payment, volunteering in other local groups and playing in an over-40 basketball league, I simply told him I didn't have the time. He thanked me and again asked me for my vote. As for Steve Jennings, I agree with the other comments made that I feel he brings a fresh perspective to the table. He's intelligent, doesn't come across as condescending and actually seems genuine. Comparatively the rest of the city council seems stagnant and has become stale. We don't need anymore over-priced pole barns built, anti-roommate laws (then flouted near instantaneously by SMC) passed, dog parks, hockey rinks or worthless fluoride debate. What Watertown needs are good, full-time, long-term, well paying jobs with affordable insurance. I haven't heard much talk from ANY candidate about trying to bring some REAL jobs to the city. Hopefully after the Primary? On a lighter note... I'm gonna take a stab at predicting the Primary outcome. I'm sure the Mayor will put up his own poll soon enough. Barring any unforeseen occurrences: Both Smith and Macaluso make it through with little trouble. Along with Jennings and Borreginine. After that who knows? Anyone else care to put in their two cents? Good luck to the candidates. I hope all the B.S. you go through makes it worth it.
