Papal conclave: New Pope is a 76-year-old Argentine: Jorge Bergoglio, Archbishop of Buenos Aires, announced to the world as 266th pontiff | Mail Online

Catholics the world over celebrate today the election of Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina as the new Pope.
Francis I was elected on the second day of balloting and is the first Pontiff from the Americas and with his Jesuit roots is widely thought of as an advocate for the disadvantaged and a gesture to the Latin world, where the Church is gaining in numbers.
I'm no expert, but I did ask my advisor on matters of faith, Joe Brosk of Carthage, who was very impressed with the choice.
The largely shallow, venal and clearly secular MSM just kept telling us how he rides the bus in Buenos Aires. That was after they mused about the whiteness of the smoke and the need to clean out the corrupt Vatican.
Seems like Francis is a holy man, well educated and in touch with the people who actually go to church...Can't ask for more than that.

I see a very poor and very spirit filled man stepping into a job that some saints have done. A man who refused to have a private car. A man who lived in a one room apartment and rode the bus. This man sweats Pope.

The new ‘Jesuit’ Pontiff’ Jorge Bergoglio:

Of Buenos Aires, is the best person of talent who could have come to lead and guide the benefit of the ‘people’ The new Pontiff is a man of social conscience who is an intellectual powerhouse, who won’t have any trouble backing up his opinions on church doctrine from the spiritual or intellectual vantage point. A choice that the World’s poor can look to for guidance, hope and above all spiritual and financial help. May he succeed where others have failed to re-invigorate a Catholic Church that through lack of true transparency allowed its image to be blackened by scandals of the worst kind; ‘the abuse of Children’ and the subsequent cover-up of that abuse for decades. I believe the new Pontiff won't fail to address that ‘cancer on the Church’ but start the process of punishing the guilty in man’s courts as well as God’s, who of course is the final arbitrator of justice for believers in the Catholic Faith.

And now we have the devil himself pontificating on the qualifications of the pontiff.

The partisan democrat whose party wants to teach preschoolers about homosexuality and putting condoms on teachers...er um cucumbers, now takes a pot shot at the worlds greatest religion.

The Democrat who would rather put a coat hanger through a kids head then let him come to term to be a burden, should recognize that catholic priests offend no more often than society as a whole and religions as a whole...

What is more important is to recognize that the intrinsic nature of the religion includes forgiveness and confession and confidentiality. Be it a priest or a parishioner or a stranger who is confessing.

I suppose if their fault was, instead of confidentiality of confession, that they threw acid on the faces of the women who confessed to walking with a male of no relation, then the Mikeys and MSN would be okay with it.
