You can't keep a good Weiner down. The former Congressman caught in a sexting scandal has been spending money on polling to guage his popularity...So says the Daily News' scribe Celeste Katz, who has been following the scent of money in NYC politics with the nose of a dachshund.
When he resigned, Mr. Weiner retained a massive campaign war chest left over from previous campaigns. Money he had hoped to use in this year's mayoral race before he got caught doing the naughty.

I don't think people really care. As long as people think he has done some good for the community since the scandal, I don't think it will make much difference. He could definitely run again and probably could be successfully. The same applies to Doheny. If he engages in the community here. Does some volunteer work. Supports noteworthy causes. He could reenter politics and probably do quite well. His timing was terrible for the 2012 election. The DC thing coupled with that quick enormous wedding (which many thought was simply too large to be sincere) didn't sit well, but in a couple years no one will remember.
If these poltical figures give time for people to forget, make smarter choices and lose any excess baggage they carry with them, people always seem willing to give them a second chance.
I hope he makes a comeback - what he did was dumb, stupid, silly, and really wacky ... but not criminal per se. He has good qualities and now (maybe) the voters will decide).
Francis you are the biggest phoney I have ever seen.Do you ever go back and read your previous comments?
So Weiner is on a roll (pun). The worse you are the higher you go in N.Y. politics.
Of course I know what my previous posts are and yes, I probably have changed my mind about various topcis and issues and people - why, haven't, Mr. Stuck in Cement (Anonymous 8:50 jerk) ... and you are a jerk for hiding behind a label, too.
