Kids Hear Mayor Read Dr. Seuss

Youngsters taking part in the Recreation Department's winter play sessions in Thompson Park got to hear from the Mayor of Watertown talk about the challenges the Mayor of Whoville had in trying to save his community from a dousing in Beazlenut oil.
Local TV news came up and covered the positive event as reading is especially important in his gadget age and the Dr. Seuss books are still among the best.
It was a fun event and the kids seemed to enjoy the experience.    .

Dr. Seuss was a librul and you are poisoning the minds of these little ones with his tripe. Why not pick a good book to read? Curious George, Little Black Sambo, The boy who cried Wolf, The five Chinese Brothers...there are many to choose from!

What 12:17PM is really trying to say is you shouldn’t be reading books that are aimed above the IQ level of your average adult conservative Republican. The next time you might want to try reading “My Pet Goat” while holding it upside down.

As one of our great local radio show hosts aptly pointed out, Curious George looks suspiciously like Andrew Cuomo. It may have been a ploy to gain the Sat morning diaper vote.

What 2:32 is trying to say is that he gets all his political information from watching Saturday Night live skits and so he believes Bush holding the “My Pet Goat” book upside down is a true story, instead of the invention of a humorless twit.

Huh... Bush can read? That's news to me!

Not only can Bush read but he attended Yale and learned about history. History is something Democrats never learn from.

Then he went on to Harvard and earned a masters in business. Business is something democrats no nothing of.

While attending these two ivy league schools he received above average grades. The amazing thing is, that was before affirmative action brought a wave of dumb students onto campuses to lower the average students abilities. It was instead, a time when the entire student body was made up of a portion of the top 2% of students in the country

And it was also before grade inflation policy had been implemented. Instead, a strict grade curving policy was in effect, requiring a set amount of students to fail and only a handful to get A's. Grade inflation did not become the norm until just before Obama was enrolled.

And so Obama's grades were "earned" when the student body was adulterated with 1/3 mediocre minority students, and the average grade was increased from a "C" to a "B" as part of a nationwide trend.

8:33 is correct, the silly upside down book yarn has been shown to be false. The truth is, he was actually gazing at the pictures thinking about the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq!

Bush? Really? Seriously? It’s hard to imagine how anyone could have done a worst job. Bozo the clown has a better business acumen than this insufferable moron. Eight years of Bush and his fiscally irresponsible policies set our country back 25 years.

Bush came into office with a budget surplus under DEMOCRAT Bill Clinton; an economy that was moving in the right direction and after a year had it spiraling into disaster.

Let’s see… deregulation that led to the near collapse of the economy (the last 6 months almost lead us to a worldwide economical depression) and 2 wars on China’s credit.

Horrifically embarrassing is about the only way to describe the Bush Presidency. It's what happens when you try to turn a frat boy into a President. I use to live in Dallas and I am embarrassed to call him a local.

There is a reason why Bush didn’t show his shameful face at the Republican convention… the truth IS, George W. Bush was a dismal FAILURE and a disgrace to our nation.

I can see why you would believe that stuff when you get all your news from SNL skits.
Fact is that Clinton did all the deregulating. Clinton he gave us Global crossings, Enron, Sprint and XOM oil merger to name but a few. Even with Newt pulling him to fiscal responsibility, the projected surplus never came to be thanks to the Clinton irrational exuberance bubble popping. And then came 9/11 which Clinton set us up for.

Of course the most important regulation...not lying on your mortgage application, was not allowed to be regulated, thanks to lawsuits by Obama and edicts by our former HUD imbecile, Andrew Cuomo.

In spite of the mess GWB inherited, he managed to stave off the Clinton recession using sensible tax policy. But being only one man in charge of but one branch of the government, the Judaical and Fannie Franks still brought our economy to its knees. But not without embarrassingly stating it was healthy just months before his rubber chickens came home to roost.

1:33PM is absolutely correct. Bush walked into the office of Presidency with an agenda of war in his heart, and took us there within a year with an agenda based on lies. Everything was based on lies, except the facts?

We had a good surplus right up until he became President. He also seemed to want to conquer the world as foreign spending tripled. I and the overwhelming majority realize most of the problems facing America today are a result of Bush and the far right agenda.

Things were NEVER humming along with Republicans especially with their deficit spending! Now they act like they are fiscally responsible. What a joke.

I get a kick out of how these ass clowns who try attempt to take the moral high ground after they screwed our country over; something only a partisan hack would do.

I’ll give Bush credit for one thing though… he beat his daddy Bush’s record for the worst satisfaction ratings of any President in our history.

How did this thread go from the mayor reading a Dr. Zeus book to a debate about George Bush? Who cares he’s gone!

Anonymous said...

Zeus...er um, Seuss is gone too.

There are only 12 comments, it shouldn't be too difficult for you to follow.

Hint: The thread was not about Dr Zeus...it was about: Kids,Hearing, Mayor, Reading, and Dr. Seuss.

Oh my. Those children are absolutely adorable. I think that it is a very nice thing when someone like the Mayor takes time to read to children. It just makes the importance reading known and I for one do not necessarily think that we have to label the books as liberal. Lets let the kids decide for themselves.

Apparently 12:17PM derailed the thread with another one of his idiotic and irrelevant comments.

I agree with 9:21
We as adults should not pass on our share of civilization and wisdom gathered and passed down over centuries by mankind.
Instead, we should let the toddlers decide for themselves.

But first we should feed their brains with gobbledygook thought up by a single arrogant man, without reverence for all the great ideas and discoveries preceding his own unoriginal thoughts.
