I suspect it was more than "a" drink that led to the 22 year old begin charged in giving a wee-hours-of-the-morning cocktail to a 14 year old girl. We all know you are not supposed to do that but shouldn't the parents be charged for not knowing where their 14 year old daughter is that time of day ?

How do you know they didn't know by some lapse, you think maybe she could've run away,or slipped out of the house,or maybe was staying with someone else who unknowingly allowed her to sneak out? What point are you trying to make, without apparently knowing the facts?
A parent SHOULD know where their 14 year old girl is at all times. Someone trustworthy should be supervising. It's not all the 22 year old's fault. Imagine if this were an incident with a 22 year old girl and a 14 year old boy. Or heaven freaken forbid, a teacher and a 14 year old boy. We probably wouldn't have heard of it.
And the 14 year old took the drink.
