Ogdensburg may get to keep its prison, but there is no way on God's green Earth that the Cuomo Administration is going to designate the Maple City as the location for one of three non-Indian casinos the Governor wants to locate upstate.
The Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority reportedly is seeking the designation, but there is no way this city of 12,000 is going to compete with Niagara Falls, the Catskills, the Capital District or any number of other more populous and politically juiced regions.
Besides, I am not sure the local legislative delegation would buck the certain editorial board opposition to such perdition on the shores of the St. Lawrence.

Again take notice that its the OBPA taking the initiave not the city.. OBPA officals at least want to attempt to bring something to the Burg. They are proposing a plot of land near the authority offices which would keep anyone coming from away from seeing what decay this city is in..
Hats off to Fred Morrill and the county legislators for at least trying.. Thats more than Nelson, Ritchie or Griffo attempted. If by some far fetched chance it did come there they would all be their for their pictures taking and credit taking..
I too give it about a one on the scale of ten thousand seeing their are already two just forty miles away... If any location up here makes sense its ABAy..
Heh Doheny could pull all the strings with his great connections and possibly partner up with someone then hire all local people to run it.... Of course in five years he would send it overseas.
