Syracuse Council Member To Cuomo: Sorry

What an obsequious weasel this guy is....The Syracuse City Council member who took it upon himself to apologize to Governor Cuomo because the Salt City's suddenly feisty mayor spoke against the Cuomo pension "smoothing" plan, calling it a "gimmick."   Tough talk, especially in the hegemonous Democratic Party of NY.
Stephanie Miner took to the NY Times and Capital Tonight to give voice to sentiments no one else dared utter.
Democratic hacks are aghast and Council Member Patrick Hogan hopes to run for mayor. His slithery performance in trying to suck up to Eagle Street doesn't make him likely to win.
Mayor Miner is up for reelection this year and her spat with the Governor brightens her star politically and expressing her concerns was a refreshing turn towards free speech again in NY politics.
Anyway, if you appreciate the mayor's gutsy move, you can help out her reelection bid at www.minerformayor.com

This bumpkin may have taken sides just a tad too soon.

No doubt about it NYS has issues, and significant ones at that. Has for some time now and the reason why we had to elect a woman from Arkansas to represent us in Washington. Not that she should be judged on where she’s from you understand…after all she did bring her man with her and his efforts have certainly done some wonderful things for the state while she’s been tied up in Washington. Now that’s behind her I’m sure she’s ready for a new challenge and while Andy was a better alternative than Crazy Carl he does have his own “issues”.

Take your pick…financial, social, religious, (living in sin with the food babe and taking the point position on gay marriage hasn’t endeared him to the Catholics or folks upstate), and then this pesky Constitution thing with folks wanting to cling to their guns and all. No doubt there‘s some fodder for the mill…oh, and then that issue of playing King with regard to the Senate/Assembly races, accepting a coalition over outright defeat of the Republican rabble.

Yep, lots of reasons for Andy’s paranoia and thousand yard stare and by the time Hill and Bill get done explaining and framing these issues in true Democrat language Andy will be remembered only slightly more fondly than Client #9.

Mikey will be dispatched to Syracuse to exact retribution on the crazy lady mayor. STOP THE MADNESS !

I can't blame him. A city like Syracuse depends on even more free$tuff than Watertown. He can't risk losing the city's free$tuff.

Remember, after Cuomo screwed up the finances at HUD, he spent time as the AG and awarded hundreds of millions in no bid contract to SU, using settlement money from insurance companies. he is not used to having to run things with more than one branch of government. he is used to calling all the shots and not being held accountable.

No Mayor:

"obsequious weasel" is the definition of dagger in the back artist, Dem. Party Co-Chairwoman Mayor Stephanie Miner, who's disloyalty to Gov. Cuomo is the stuff political epics are made of in NYS. The best that can be said of her is she'll be history soon.

As reported by Capitol Tonight:

In his letter of opology to Gov. Cuomo Paul Hogan states:

"in his letter to Cuomo that the smoothing plan in his budget proposal — which allows local governments to lock in pension costs under Tier Six now against future savings — will ease costs in the short term.

Pension costs are a significant burden; we know it will be sometime before local governments will realize the savings from your Tier VI plan. The pension plan proposed by your administration for municipalities and (endorsed by the NYS Conference of Mayors and our own Onondaga County Executive) will allow the City of Syracuse to bridge the gap in costs until the benefits from the Tier VI plan are realized. It is a creative and responsible plan."

And it is a reponsible plan the Gov. put forward to help Mayor that can't get the job done.

Notice now Mikey is attempting to cover himself when he steals other peoples' writing. It is getting funny. At the beginning of each plop, he makes a general statement of where he steals his material. Then he writes whatever he wants from wherever he can take it. Very cool. A sign of a very educated man. It's not quite proper, but it's a definite improvement over the past, where he simply copied and gave no credit to anyone but himself. Now if we could just get him to give proper credits. The alternative would be for him to write his own thoughts, but that is an impossibility with a man who is so lip locked around the party member.

This councilman is a party hack . Miner was right to call BS on Cuomo . iIT is fiscal legerdemain ;) that he probably learned from his father.

Cuomo 1.0 was the king of "ONE SHOTS ".which were examples of fiscal gimmicry used to avoid making hard decisions about cost containment.

Apples dont fall far from the tree.

MCM's comments are well worth reading, and he calls a lot of issues out into the open, even before Mayor Graham does in his blog posts. Go MCM! Keep the gun nuts and Repubpukes on the run.

On the run, 11:03?
Hahahahaha

I'd be happy if we just knew who we were running FROM. To do that, we'd have to know where MCM is copying that day's material.

ANON 12:53PM

MCM helps get people like Owens elected, you couldn't get Matt Doheny elected in two trys could you? Try getting someone elected to Congress then put MCM down.

You know MCM is doing something right when the goofy right wingers have to comment on every move he makes.

On the contrary, MCM and Danny and a couple of others are by far the most informed people on this sight. In fact, if it wasn’t for them this blog would be nothing but another right wing echo chamber, void of meaningful ideas and opposing viewpoints.
Keep ‘em comings guys, you must be doing something right when the goofy right wingers want to suppress you’re right to free speech.

Watching these guys squirm is priceless!
