Lady Gaga Best Watch Out or Her Aides Will Unionize - NYPOST.com

This Lady Gaga trial with the former personal aide now demanding to be paid overtime is what's wrong with society.
Gaga may be demanding and eccentric as that is what gives her the show business genious to be a worldwide icon and multimillionaire.
If you want to work for her, you either accept the deal offered or you don't, and like any job, if you don't like it, there's the door. (This did seem a rather demanding job, but hanging out with a pop diva 24/7 is a unique opportunity).
This is not a traditional job or a typical job regulated by wage and hour legislation.
It is funny the liberal supporter of our President is accused of exploiting workers in a very non-union sort of way.

Yup,"funny"...or do you mean disgustingly idiotically hypocritical?

She supports the guy that wants public employee unions to pay Danny types with tax free pensions after 20 years and medical care for life, and not have to lift a finger outside of a strict job description. But when its her money paying for it she won't even "pay her fair share" to someone that was at her beck and call 24/7.

It might help to understand that she is a most likely a one issue voter. Gay "rights" consumes her entire political thought process because that's her audience. All sanctimonious a$$holes are driven by gay rights and abortion rights. They call themselves moderates.

You are right that it is whats wrong with society. A perfect example of the fact that the people that write rules for everyone else do not want the rules to apply to themselves. If they ever had to live under their own rules and tax rates, they might be less quick to raise taxes and pass new stupid totalitarian laws.

Why should she be exempt from paying overtime if every other employer is paying overtime? Because its not a "traditional job"? Oh...okay...

I agree with you, you take the deal and live with it, or you leave. It will be interesting to see what the Court thinks.

A general observation - The woman has a pretty good voice and can certainly write catchy songs, as her appearance on Howard Stern proved, but based on the transcripts of that deposition, it sounds like she's just another famous young person who's let it all go to their head. The sooner she's gone from the spotlight, the better, IMO.

There's a job for ya, Mikey. You could be Lady Caca's gofer babe/boy. I'm sure she'd let you keep the brown coat and hat and glasses. She might make you stand up straight, but she certainly will share your high level political views. Until you start with the collective baaahhhhgaining.

Someone needs to explain the difference to me again? Why is it okay to demand your employee be available 24/7 but we can't do that to our employees?

When first responders are on duty they are paid for every second they are on duty, not just when they are actually responding to calls. All jobs should be "you either accept the offer or you don't".
