Pulling The Plug On Electric Car Chargers? | WWNY TV 7

Some people are aghast at the shot I took at the tofu-eaters on Channel 7 tonight, but really, who is it who wants free electricity for the green elites ?
The issue is whether to provide a state sponsored, but ill-advised free electric car recharge station on city property.....
Meanwhile, Davidson Chevrolet had two of them available free of charge to anyone.
Was it class warfare on my part or spot-on commentary. You decide.

It was satire and it was high larious.
You gotta understand that to those pinheads its only funny when you say, "I can see Russia from my house" or "One awkward moment, though, during the game. Maybe you heard about it, maybe you saw it on one of the highlight reels, one awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game. During the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."

Mayor, what’s up with that picture behind you in the interview; the little prepubescent blonde girl with the pig tails and the frilly dress holding the frothy beer mugs? No offense or anything, but at first blush it looks really creepy.

I think the girl is the same one on the front door of the bar. She is a waitress in Bavarian dress. You need to get out more.

Yeah you’re probably right; I “need to get out more.” The next time I’m in a Bavarian Pub I’ll be sure to tell the child waitress there’s a picture of her at the Mayor’s bar.

You may continue drooling now…

Let’s see, the “Green Energy crowd”, the “Burgonstock Wearers”, the “Volvo Drivers”, the “NYT Readers”, the “people that wished they had gone to Berkeley instead of JCC”??

Whew! For a minute there, I thought I was watching a lost episode of Archie Bunker. No wonder The Meathead seemed so smart.

The FREE sh-t is like all the FREE Sh-t NOW gets to fix up old buildings and create a welfare state in the Downtown....

Oh National Grid is going to be peeked in the Joules when they hear about this.
You know who owns a lot of land and has lots of Watts? National Grid!

Why don't THEY give the power for free? Why don't THEY find a spot of land of their own for this oddity?

It ought to be located next to a car dealer because the only way an electric car could get hear is if it came on a car carrier.

Mayor Graham-
You do realize every time you make a douchebag comment like that, you insult more than half your constituents, don't you? I know you from Pete's Restaraunt and frankly, I'm not surprised by your remarks. Remember, you're a big fish in a very small pond.

look i agree with you in spirit and in this decision but like we ALL do at times , You were OTT on this one . no need to be snide or small when one is a leader .

leaders even tho they privately hold very strong opinions should alway strive to take the high road both with actions and rhetoric . jeff as one who has also gone over the line on occasion ;) , i ll give you a pass on this one .

BTW i used to drive SAABS I can.tstand tofu , never liked Birkenstocks , never considered myself a greenie, and as many Saabophiles we were driving one of the early generation cars with FWD designed for WINTER .and for me getting to the ski hill. it was NOT a Badge for my status , politics, or desired image, Just sayin

BTW my nose aint out of joint on this , iam bemused that perhaps you just went a bit OTT.

have a great day and again you made the right decision.

Good parody and satire. I like your wit and know you from Pete's as well.

What about the elite right. I'm not quite so touchy feely when I have my wool shirt and Timberlands on. Not much for tofu either, but I do like my quiche.

The only douches are the ones that cannot laugh at themselves.

I have always had respect for your leadership and intelligence Mayor Graham. However, I think you went a little too far with your comments about "tofu eating, Birkenstock wearers."

I feel you may be alienating a key constituency of potential voters. The North Country has often had a strong Republican presence and you have been mayor for quite sometime; however, you may want to keep all the voters in you pocket that you can. It is not a Republican-minded anymore as you may think: just ask Matt Doheny.

I can see how a charging station doesn't make much sense up here especially since there is already a facility at Davidson. However, you know as well as I do this was brokered in Albany with lobbyists for National Grid and you can be sure NG will be making money off of this. If it was up to me I would give more money to the Urban Mission.

And about green energy getting all the subsidies. I have a feeling that overall oil and gas companies are getting many more subsidies than "green technology." It might not always be direct subsidies but in the form of road construction and highways that benefit oil companies.

Please try not to be a rabble rouser and please lead. We don't need anymore fear-mongering...

When he ran for office this time he made it clear he wasn't into all the tree hug and tug stuff. You know who wanted windmills on all of the buildings in Watertown. Plus all of those solar panels. The Mayor never played us that he was into the hippy crap. So why the big surprise?

Anonymous said...

So Mayor Graham, I pose to you this question. What are you going to do when the oil is all gone? Who cares, hopefully you'll be dead by then huh, screw all of the children who are going to have figure their way out of the mess we've created. I just don't understand why you couldn't just say that the city cannot afford to pay for the utilities instead making an ASS of yourself.

Why yes, of course, spot on commentary mayor, I dare say… smashingly brilliant!!

Anonymous said...

Well I was about to throw my two cents in until I read 10:00am and 1:04pm’s comments. I think they accurately summed up my feeling concerning the mayor’s silly and needless comment.

Idi Amin Duda said...

One answer. HORSES!

Anonymous said...

11:21am… “hippy crap?” Do you mean as opposed to “redneck crap?”

FRee electricity for cars? That's not right! Since we are NOT dependent on the Arabs for oil (12%) drill holes in the northwest and the arctic circle. We have more oil than Arabia! If all the vehicles in Manhattan were electric there would be such a drain that there would be a need for a new power plant!

1:04, why all the animosity? You pretend to care about kids, but from your puking we can tell you're an Obama licker. We screw our kids every day. Don't pretend to care about them now. Because of dumbasses like you, kids won't have any money to buy either oil or electricity. So we might as well screw them this way too. Enjoy yourself, Moron.

I can’t think of anything more amusing then watching a faux elitist smuggling labeling others as being elitist… hypocrisy on parade.

Anonymous said...

LOL, the mayor was just being witty and satirical… sure, I believe it.

Graham is guilty of a hate crime. Who do I complain to, the district attorney or Bob Gorman ?

8:33.....perfect.

@ 6:10...Until you know me, shut your mouth about me...You may screw kids everyday, I'm not a pedophile, so I do not...I do however KNOW Mayor Graham, the one who couldn't even show up to the grand opening of Best Buy on time, and when he did show, he looked like a bag of ass, as always... I so cannot wait until election time!!! By Jeff!
