NAPOLITANO: The right to shoot tyrants, not deer

Ever since Newtown, those angling for more gun control repeat the mantra about how they don't want to interfere with your right to shoot a deer, as if that is what the Second Amendment is all about.
It's their urban pander to what they think is the attitude in fly-over, red state America where people cling to their guns and religion.
The right to bear arms has nothing to do with bears either...It's about the notion of inalienable rights and freedom from oppressive tyrants. That's what Judge Napolitano says about the progressives in the duopoly called elephants and donkeys.
I guess reasonable people can have reasonable rules about sales, use and storage, but if the Second Amendment is to be revered, its not about killing a furry friend in the forest.

Oh, he is just an old fashioned right wing extremist. There is no danger of tyrants any longer in the world. People simply don't crave power the way they used to.

“Food For Thought”

So tell me Judge Napolitano which of the Presidents below were American tyrants? Some people thought they were all tyrants at one time or another. On Mayor Graham’s blog calling pres. Obama a tyrant is routine and that’s wrong for obvious reasons to mentally stable people.

“Presidential Assassinations and Assassination Attempts: and were they tyrants?”

Abraham Lincoln - Lincoln was shot in the head while watching a play on April 14, 1865. His assassin, John Wilkes Booth escaped and was later shot and killed

James Garfield - Charles J. Guiteau, a mentally disturbed government office seeker, shot Garfield on July 2, 1881. The president did not die until September 19th of blood poisoning

William McKinley - McKinley was shot two times by anarchist Leon Czolgosz while the president was visiting the Pan-American Exhibit in Buffalo, New York on

John F. Kennedy - On November 22, 1963, John F. Kennedy was mortally wounded while riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas. His apparent assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was killed by Jack Ruby before standing trial.

Assassination Attempts

Andrew Jackson - On January 30, 1835, Andrew Jackson was attending a funeral for Congressman Warren Davis. Richard Lawrence, attempted to shoot him with two different derringers, each of which misfired.

Theodore Roosevelt:
an assassination attempt was actually not made on Roosevelt's life while he was in the office of president. Instead, it occurred after he had left office and decided to run for another term against William Howard Taft.Franklin Roosevelt - After giving a speech in Miami on February 15, 1933, Giuseppe Zangara shot six shots into the crowd. None hit Roosevelt though the Mayor of Chicago, Anton Cermak was shot in e stomach.

Harry Truman - On November 1, 1950, two Puerto Rican nationals attempted to kill President Truman to bring attention to the case for Puerto Rican independence. The President and his family were staying at the Blair House across from the White House and the two attempted assassins, Oscar Collazo and Griselio Torresola, tried to shoot their way into the house. Torresola killed one and wounded another policeman while Collazo wounded one policeman. Torresola died in the gunfight.

Gerald Ford - Ford escaped two assassination attempts, both by women. First on September 5, 1975, Lynette Fromme, a follower of Charles Manson, pointed a gun at him but did not fire. The second attempt on Ford's life occurred on September 22, 1975 when Sara Jane Moore fired one shot that was deflected by a bystander. Moore was trying to prove herself to some radical friends with the assassination of the president.

President Ronald Reagan - The Reagan assassination attempt occurred on March 30, 1981, just 69 days into the presidency of Ronald Reagan. While leaving a speaking engagement by John Warnock Hinckley, Jr. (born May 29, 1955)

“All we are saying is give ‘Gun Control’ a chance.”

Here is a bit more food for thought MCM....

Battle of Athens (TN) - 1946
This is an interesting bit of history and an indication of the reasoning behind the second ammendment (and a glimpse of government gone wrong). Be sure to watch it to the end and see the actual pictures of that time. How many people today are aware of this event that took place in Athens, TN. in 1946. It was an armed revolt by WWII veterans that took place during our lifetime.

A very sobering video to say the least.

Be sure to see the actual photos at the end showing the plaques describing the event.

When are you (progressive, left wing) people going to wake up to the fact that all of the gun control, registration, blah, blah will do absolutely nothing to stop the crazies. Napolitano is right on the money with his comments.

Thank you for the link Mayor......

Mikey, some day you will demonstrate the ability to think. Maybe not here, and maybe not soon, but someday. The above listed items are irrelevant. They involve criminal behaviour, certainly not anything thought of by the founders of this nation. But you know that, don't you?

The 2A involves the right of the people to be armed against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It is not meant to be a protection to deer hunt, as Mayor Graham correctly notes.

Not smart. There comes a time when you have to intellectually evaluate what is going on with this gun debate. You cannot continue to hide behind party loyalty to cloak such stupidity. If you wish to advocate for limitations on certain types of firearms or magazines, do so. We can conduct a debate on that basis. But please, don't play quite so dumb about the Constitution. And do get some new clothes. It does't help to dress like a clown when you insist on acting like one.

A couple of questions:

- The government already bans private ownership of full automatic weapons. If you accept the government's right to do this, you have already accepted the principle that the 2nd Amendment isn't absolute. And if it isn't, why doesn't the government have a right to regulate semi-automatic weapons as well?

- Along those same lines, if the 2nd Amendment exists in order to protect citizens from the state, then doesn't it follow that private ownership of shoulder mounted grenade launchers, chemical weapons and tactical nucs is constitutional? Remember, at the time the 2nd Amendment was written, the U.S. didn't have a standing army, and the weaponry available to everyone was fairly simple. Now we have half a million people in the armed services and the government holds all the cards when it comes to sophisticated, lethal weaponry.

Hey - "All-Knowing" Middle Class Mike: Thanks for the history lesson. Why don't you now educate us on how gun control worked out across the world. Just to make it easy, why don't you start with Germany?

Come on Mikey...the great honorable judge never suggested assassinating presidents. He is talking about defending our homes and person and town when you and your totalitarian tyrants come looking for us. Or when you come to take our guns. Even if you promise to leave us with a single shot deer are still up for a fight.

Fear sells and the GOP and their unreasonable gun stance shows me that they are the best buyers around and the NRA is the top sellers of that fear about government.

Taking matters into one's own hands with a gun does not and never will solve the problem of shitty people in government.

If anyone thinks that way, may I suggest they move to North Korea where it is wide open season on government officials (and a way of life). And, the gun ranges are never crowded and ammo is cheap for the anti-government bunch.

What pisses me off though is that, in my opinion, this country is going to hell in a hand-basket on the quick. In my 50+ years, I have never seen the Government chip-away at OUR rights and interfere with OUR liberties as much as they're doing now, and noone seems to give a rats ass...yet. Simply because some whacked-out punk kid shoots-up a school, the FEDS want to mess with the LEGAL, RESPONSIBLE gun owners like the 99.9% of us are. This simply was the incident the LIBS have been waiting for so that they can take a shot at disarming us citizens in the name of "safety." What the knee-jerk LIBS fail to understand is that no matter how many guns, clips, ammo types they ban, the BAD guys are still going to get it and out-gun us. In my opinion, these shootings are a direct result of:

1. Violence in movies
2. Violence on TV
3. Violence in music (particular rap/hip-hop)
4. Violence in video games
5. Breakdown of the family unit
6. Lack of religious values

BTW...the first FOUR are controlled by the left-wing media complex, yet they blame the right-wing 'Gun Fanatics' for the problem. I didn't hear anyone demand the banning of airplanes after these two 'weapons' were flown into the Twin Towers in New York killing 1000+ people.

For those of you who have read this far, I applaud you and thanks for hearing me out. I'm only trying to bring to light what the main-stream media refuses to report.

Amen Max Volume Your post is right on. MCM who thinks clearing his throat on air before talking makes hisself sound smart will never get it.The right to bear arms is to protect its citizens from its own government .Only nut cases or the mentally ill misuse weapons to injure the innocent.FYI MCM when you clear your throat the only thing that it accomplishes is to make the listners of 1240 turn off the show or change the channel to 790 to listen to Rush.

To many people walk up to me and say the Mayor and I talking are the only reason they listen to the show. Just telling you what they tell me. They like our discussions.

@Max Amen to that too.

Assination attempts has nothing to do with gun rights.

What a Tyrant in President can do?

Google NDAA, National Defense Authorisation Act. signed by Obama on New Years Eve 2011, when nobody would watch or listen.
Sound familiar?

He also expanded the Patriot Act, kept Gitmo Bay and fedled with the habea corpus ageold rights.

Fear doesn't sell, Dannie. Hysteria sells. And that is all you and your ilk are selling. You have a crime where many innocents were murdered, and you are using that to whip up hysteria and misinformation. And you are pushing meaningless laws as fast as possible because you know people have a tendency to learn. They won't listen to your BS for very long. You have to strike while Hollywood and media has everyone's attention. Why did you fight to defend a Constitution you hated so much? Admit it, there is nothing the Donkey party could propose limiting personal liberty that you would not support. You always stand proudly and loudly for nothing at all.

Hey MCM you can discuss all you want.........But know the facts and get a job.

ANON 9:56 Gun Control legislation is going to pass today and that speaks for itself. If people whodon't know a thing about me want to attack me and libel me, well I really can't be concerned.
You're a loser who would rather try to defame a guy who advocated for gun control. I helped get gun control. What did you get?

Anonymous said...

MCM explain how you got gun control? And I know you dont have a job so we'll skip that question.

Anonymous said...

Yes Mikey, it does speak for itself. Our government is dominated by fine people, folks like you. Willing to lie, mislead, cheat, and pander to any group necessary to make their point. They also are willing to trade freedom to enrich themselves and solidify their priviledged positions. Your character is similiar, and if you as accomplished as they are, you would have your teaching job.

Gun Control in NYS is a reality and you must deal with now -it's the law; for me that's accomplishment enough. A good start on a long road to tone down violence in America. Chalk one up for the people who advocated for change and got it from a Governor willing to step up and be counted for NYS and its voters. We were able to 'Teach' you that sane people don't need Assault weapons to hunt or defend themselves -their for attacking people pure and simple. Is the lesson learned dummy!
