Griffo Statement on Senate Gun Control bill

Senator Joe Griffo, who represents parts of NNY says he voted against the Governor's gun bill in part because Andy abused legislative due process by declaring an emergency in order to circumvent the three day aging period when a bill is proposed.
The period for comment and debate is an essential part of legislating and while the cake was aleady baked on this one, protocol is important.
Sorry Governor....I agree with the Senator...Due process matters. It serves to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority.

Who protects the majority from the NRA? Who protected those 7 and 8 year olds in Massachusetts?

Mr. Mayor: You should be embarrassed to follow the line of Senator Griffo, who is in the pocket of the NRA.

Senator Griffo should stop making up excuses and hiding. His choice for leader, Dean Skelos was right there with Andy. He knew this was going to be jammed down our throats yet he still voted for Skelos, and today cast a CYA vote.

Who do you think you are kidding?

"Tyranny of the Majority" is certainly a consideration in this case. But who knows what the real balance was. There was so much misinformation and simple untruths told during this quickie debate we will never really know how people felt. The days of freedom in this country appear numbered. I will now center my political efforts on eliminating tax breaks for motor pool veterans and fat guys who don't work. Obesity costs our health care system much more than my guns ever did.

The purpose of the three day aging process is not to protect the minority from the majority, it is to protect the people form knee-jerk, "you got to pass it to find out what's in it...and to give me a shot at running for president...even though I have poop on my fingers from running HUD" legislation.

Neighbors, NYS has declared open war on You. With the stroke of a pen potentially tens of thousands of felons where administratively created.

You can't fight the Albany/NYC racket with appeals to Natural Rights, the Bill of Rights, property rights, BECAUSE those folks don't believe in such. You will never succeed.

The time for argument is over. This is about power.

There must be a political break with Albany. Nowhere is it found written that for all time the measured area of New York State cannot be altered.

Break New York State apart.

Or else submit.

It really is that simple.

Rushed, knee-jerk decisions never work out as planned.

Their may be some merits to this bill but the way it was shoved through the process reminds me of obamacare. We'll read it after we pass it. I read what was available and their are some questions about several areas that are left unanswered. In todays day of unfunded mandates who is going to track all these permits and process them? Will we have to hire someone? Or several people to process the applications for a permit and the renewals? Gee, I guess they didn't think about that. The state historically will pass that cost off to the counties. When our taxes go up to pay for this we'll hear some screaming from the Cuomo supporters.

And I guess there will be 1,100 less tax payers in Illion, NY at the Remington Arms factory.

Cuomo could not let the process proceed becasue discussing the bill would point out what a buffon he is and how stupid the law is.

As we all know, down state is full of stupid libruls like the fresstuff crowd we have up here. But the difference is that downstate libruls are not completely brain dead. That means if some discussion took place they might see how stupid they are being. Cuomo could not take that chance.

The rush to the Gun Shops encouraged by NRA, through its fear mongering, caused the Governor to want to act quickly. That's directly from him. So you Gun Nuts out there helped get the law passed quicker. We appreciate that and thanks for all the ahrd work to bring 'Gun Control' to NYS quicker.

It was a cute scene today, watching King Barack parade out all them kids to stand beside him while he preached to the Dumbasses about the need for NEWLAWZ. Can you imagine what the note home asking for the use of the kid read like?

"This is the Ki,er the presiedint, and I wanna use, uh borrow your kid, just for a while soz I kin put on a hose and ponie show for Dannie and Mikey types alllll over da nation in all 57 states of the kuntry. If its ok, just put 'em out on the steps and secrit srvice will pike them up and do da rest. I apreciated yure vote that last time and I ashure you I will think of you whin I'm in Holliewould".

The Sioux know a thing or two about gun control.

297 Indians where murderd,
200 of them women and children, from federal.Agents and the
7th.Cavalry ,after they peacefully turned in their guns to federal agents, 122 years ago on wounded knee.

This was one of the first federal gun confiscations.

This a prime story, of what the second amendment is all about.
