USDA chief: Rural America becoming less relevant - Associated Press - POLITICO.com

Voters in American's rural counties voted for Mitt Romney by a 61-38 % margin...Too bad that group only represents one in seven voters and the urban areas disagreed.
US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack says rural America is becoming less relevant....
Evidence of that, he says, is the inability to pass a farm bill.
    The Secretary is likely correct.
We are out of step with much of American because rural Americans are more self-sufficient.  That's a good thing, but it doesnt keep you from being not imporatant.

Most of the uncontrolled breeding, unchecked crime, and distribution of FreeStuff takes place in the urban areas. Its not surprising that Obama wins big in those areas. Country people are used to working. You know, jobs and stuff like that.

Right you are, and most of the state politicans in this area are also relevant.

Rural Americans are used to working hard. Not at all surprised that hardworking Americans are becoming irrelevant.

Meanwhile, dead people, illegal aliens and people named Jose Rodriguez with no ID are more relevant than ever.

It is however very interesting that the metro area CONTRIBUTE's WAY more ro the TAX BASE that they RECEIVE whereas the rural areas especially NNY gets MORE back that it contributes . You NEED to keep things in perspective ,

I moved from an urban environment where I worked hard. After living in the rural area I still can work hard. It's the people who are lazy that are not relevant! The inability to pass a farm bill lands in the lap of the U.S. Agriculture Secretary who, maybe, doesn't know how to sell it! The politicians feed off the numbers of voters and most of them are in urban areas.

Farm bill = free$tuff for farmers.
Responsible people don't want that to pass.

Fair and mentally unbalanced Danny, you are not counting all the money the metro area pimps steal from the enslaved rural in the form of laws, restrictions fees and licenses.

I agree with 4:38. FreeStuff is no good unless you can train a group to vote as a group. Farmers think on their own, which makes them a bad investment. Screw the farmers.

You'd be better off putting the money into fathers who don't support their kids and people with criminal records. There's a solid return.
