Sharpton blasts NY Senate power sharing deal - Times Union

Governor Cuomo says he will work with whomever supports his agenda...And many think the Governor gave tacit support to the Independent Democratic Caucus, who took their five members and cut a power sharing deal with the GOP.

However, the shadow behind NYC Democratic Senators says the deal stinks...Rev. Al Sharpton, an MSNBC commentator, says the party sold out its minority base by cutting a deal with Senator Jeff Klein.  Rev. Sharpton says the Caucus only has one black member.....that would be Senator Malcom Smith who joined the group this week.

“Gov. Cuomo’s Senate manipulation is too clever by half”

This Governor is going to be sunk on his obnoxious character traits over time, because they seem to portray this about his inner life to me. He tends to think you can sell the public anything, if you package it with slick enough wrapping paper. Mr. Cuomo likes to see himself as a champion of the disempowered, but paradoxically has now disempowered the Democratic electorate he supposedly represented. Our Governor likes to be portrayed as a nice fellow, but his body language over time screams, "back off I'm talking now" and sooner or later that's going to cost him.

His actions on the 'Coalition' arrangement in the Senate seem to reflect that he quietly backed it, and thought he wanted it, but now worries about being stuck with it if it doesn't work. He's unconcerned that he disappointed voters in what I feel is a morally despicable way, but is very concerned that the feeling of betrayal by Democratic voters might become wide spread. If you report the truth about this little gambit he has waged, to power share in the Senate as long as all stake holders in the deal know, they're in fact reporting to him you're probably not getting invited to this year’s Christmas Party and that will really sting.

I see us entering a dark period with this Governor where his lack of respect for voters comes into clearer view and I fully expect he's capable of creating an enemies list in Albany, NY as preparation for national office and his entry into the Republican Party. Family history aside this Governor is a Republican at heart and I don't mind saying so even if he wants to put a little guy on his enemies list (or as Rick said in Casablanca) his role of honor, I think in 2016 he'll run as a Republican. The Republican Party is going to be looking for a Centrist and by that time he'll bolt, because he'll have completely burnt his bridges with mainstream Democrats after pulling this 'Coalition' stunt and no doubt more will follow over time.

So what's new? The Democrats sell out their minority base everyday by passing laws and spending to encourage and promote the worst aspects of minority behavior.

And sharpton betrays his race by crying wolf every time there is conflict between a black and some other race. He is a piece of sh%t personified.

I wonder if Sharpton felt the same way when Dede pulled her sh%t or when they had a few republicans vote for gay marriage?

The not-so-reverend Sharpy cannot get out of the spotlight. What power or legal authority does he have to expound his racist ideas? Maybe that one person equals the percentage of who's who at the zoo. Hey Al - the order goes like this; White, hispanic, black. You are actually number three!

Seems to me that blacks are over-represented with 20% of the caucus while only 17.5% of the NY population is black. Sharpton is a cry baby.

Sharpton can be pretty cute sometimes with his comments, but then looses any respect people may have for him because of his narrow racist viewpoint.

That makes him the black leader old white guys can point to as to what would happen (in their bigoted minds) if folks other than old white guys ran the country.

However, they can relax, because they'll be dead by the time whites are in the minority. And the majority will eventually end up being be multiracial anyway.

Fox news is continually derided and MSNBC has Sharpton as a commentator?

Apparently skin color matters when it comes to political critiques. The North Country hasn't been fully integrated for more than 20 years, way behind the South.

I wonder when the last Sharpton and the not-so-reverend Jesse Jackson actually put on the 'collar' and preached in a church?

It is racist comments like 11:40's that continue to fan the flames. You can hear the glee in his self loathing old white guy voice as he ponders and predicts the demise of old white people. Ignorantly blind to the fact that the "multiracial" future will be one race of cross bread idiots. As philandering deadbeat black baby daddys knock up the ugliest fat white girls they can find that will have them. It is a good thing it is all in the name of fairness that libruls can detest and hate people for their gender and race...specifically male Caucasians.

And lets not pretend that Sharton is an anomaly or a vocal minority of minorities. He is a black leader that accurately represents the views of the majority of blacks. The same blacks that voted 100% in lockstep for Obama in some jurisdictions.

4:22: Liberal guy Here. Time for you to ask somebody to define the term racist for you. Or you could simply look in the mirror.

I already knew I was a racist.
Racist: someone who does not hate or is not willing to discriminate against white males.

Mikey thinks this Gov is overconfident, that he "can sell anything as long as its wrapped in..." blah blah blah. Well Mike, just as our first black president has proven, that is true. Any amount of BS will be swallowed as long as it is accompanied by FreeStuff and a complicit media. Both exist here in the Empire State. Cuomo has every reason to be confident. Still no luck finding that teaching job?

Why would Mikey want a teaching job when ACORN will pay him to work one day a year voting in as many booths as he can drive to in a day?

The reason Mike isn't teaching is despite his unison singing with NYSUT, his presense in the classroom would be terrible for the children. And isn't that what its all about, the Children?
