Radio Christmas Party Features Glamorous People

It was another splendid dinner at what arguably is the best local restaurant...Employees of Community Broadcasting gathered at Cafe Mira in Adams for the Christmas Party hosted by owners Jim Leven and Bruce Mittman.
Radio folks from the Watertown and Ogdensburg operations were there...I sat at the table with the Maple City contingent....We talked a lot of politics and everyone from Bill Nelson to Chuck Kelly was mentioned.
Radio Pretty People Kari Plumpton and Glenn Curry Preen for the Camera

Johnny Spezzano was there as was Glenn Curry and Kari Plumpton, my fashion and style advisor. Mr. Mittman is still mourning the loss of his Bay State cohort Mitt Romney.
Cafe Mira is owned by Lisa and Lori....Lisa worked on Pearl Street a couple of decades ago and is very successful in Adams....
I heartily recommend Cafe Mira to any and all looking for fine dining !

Rule number 1 Never go to Christmas Parties, someone is bound to say something that gets them fired the next day.

does that picture make them look like they have huge heads or is that just me..

Nah that pic was taken on easter island

If Glenn opened a yogurt shop would he name it after himself? If not then he didn't have the biggest head there...

Is this really newsworthy? Seriously?
The 1st BCT is preparing to leave their families behind due to ANOTHER deployment...this nonsense has been going on for over ten years. And you choose to waste space gushing about this (what's worse, NewzJunky chose to link to it).
How about sharing what military families are doing for the holidays with loved ones deployed or preparing to do so, rather than giving press to an organization driven by their bottom line and nothing more.

Military Families get enough press, Let's not forget the Troops volunteered, Youre expected to go to the Christmas Party.

In response to the above comment, I guess you don't seem to realize that the North Country does do alot for our Military Community and we do appreciate them!! People are just to uptight, noone can enjoy themselves anymore without being judged!! This is ridiculous!

Ok...then why not report on other Christmas parties? Do any of you work for the organization in question? Or have you in the past?
As for the military "getting enough press"...are we really going to say "hey, we're doing enough for them; we don't need to do anymore"?
How many friends have you lost to this conflict? How many more have come back with PTSD from what WE sent them to do?
But you're right; let's forget the military...we've done what is acceptable, we don't need to go beyond that; it's much more important to concern ourselves with money, and thinly-veiled "attaboys" because they are required by etiquitte and not by true appreciation...

I didnt say forget them but really you cant cover a Christmas Party because the military doesnt get equal attention?? It's a Volunteer force..........

Somehow I gotta believe,or hope, that members of the military don't look to THIS blog of all things for gratifaction..haha no offense to you mr mayor but come on..

The troops volunteered to defend this country. They did not volunteer to spend over ten years where the Soviets failed. What I'm asking is why is one Cristmas Party (I'm surprised nobody has screamed bloody murder about the use of the word "Christmas" and not the more politically-correct "Holiday") worthy of coverage and not others? Because this wasn't news...it was just sucking-up.

Hey 1223 did you think being in the military means not being deployed? In the 90's the 10th really didnt have a mission......... So dont complain when there deployed, and yes Glenn is sucking up

Look if you don't get it 1223,the mayor is IN radio broadcasting thus his interest in a christmas party for his colleagues..and I don't think anyone can deny he shows up at more events, both civilian and military, than any other local politician to represent the city and the area..just to be accurate.

I agree with 8: AM.

There is enough done and printed with the military.

Yesterday there was a letter in the WDT , from the local head of Veterans for peace, I think his name is Ronald Deusen of Clayton , where he said he is pro veteran but against war and said there is not enough help and done for the veterans.

I agree with it, I see what young soldiers are getting inklusive seperation pay and tax incentives and after 9/11 Vets, if they are insured even their family getting paid for taking care of them, why older veterans have a hard time to fight the system and VA and their families get nothing.

I can say this all out of my own family expirience.

When did I say GLENN was sucking up? Did I say that? I don't think so. THE MAYOR is sucking up. And when did I say ANYTHING about thinking being in the military means "not getting deployed"? I was in the military, and dealt with terrorism (and more than just Islamic extremists). And since when was the 10th Mountain Division not engaged in combat operations in the 1990's? Or are we supposed to forget for a moment the 10th's involvement in Operation Desert Storm (Saudi Arabia, 1991) and Mogadishu (1993)? OK, we'll set that aside for the moment; regardless, how does that justify over 10 years in a country where you cannot tell who the enemy is (I know an Army captain who has an enlightening report about our so-called "allies" who turned on them in the middle of the night)? A country that will return to their tribalistic structure and attitudes before we pull the last American warrior out? You're beginning to bore me; take care (oh, would you please point out where I said Glenn was sucking up? I can't find it anywhere...)
