Blog turns tables on gun map paper - POLITICO.com

After a NYC area newspaper printed the names and addresses of suburban residents with handgun permits, a local blogger posted names and addresses of employees of the Journal News. That's funny.
With the Internet the little guy can put up a little bit of a fight. But be careful, these publishers all have expensive First Amendment lawyers on retainer and they will use them on occasion to browbeat the uppity and the irreverant.

It is funny.
But like newspapers...no one reads most blogs. Now if it was posted on MGV then it would mean some exposure!

Know what's even funnier? No one with a gun cares if you publicize that they have a gun! In fact, they might prefer it! And the criminals would prefer that they just publish who doesn't have a gun.

I read the list of Newspaper employees. Someone will be ordering them pizzas all next year, with extra anchovies and onions and NO special sauce.

And 11:27, I'll bet you this list of employees get trading around the internet for YEARS. This isn't dead. These folks will be getting pizzas for the rest of their lives.

Criminals sure love that they know now, where unarmed possible victims live.

12:04,4:40,8:47 you're all anonymous yet you seem to think publishing addresses are ok or the means for people to harass others. At least not be cowards and leave your name.

"Publish the Data"

The list of who owns a gun can be matched to licensing requirements. In the future you'll have to tell the truth to pass a background checker go to jail, etc. There were 70,000 people who lied on their Gun Permit test last year. If you don't pass a psychological competency test, it can be matched to gun ownership list, and you lose the right to own a gun. You commit a felony, it's matched to gun ownership list, and the gun is confiscated by police.

“Making it tougher to get a Gun is a GOOD idea.”

They'll be heavy testing and regulation of gun purchases in America from here on out and today Sheldon Silver proposed the first bill aimed act ‘Gun Control’ legislation. Permits and tests are just for starters ANON 5:25 we want to know all about the background of gun owners from here on out. The day when a nut can buy a gun at an unlicensed show or fair is fast coming to an end. I'll give it some more thought, but Albany, NY looks like it's ready to come out swinging for strict gun control measures in our State and that is fine with me, and I believe it's long overdue.
