Allen West spent $18 million in losing effort

Spending $4.2M to get elected to Congress may seem like  a lot...It is but that's what Democrat Patrick Murphy spent to win his Florida district....
His opponent, incumbent Republican Allen West spent over $18M.....On a Congressional race !
If Only He's Had Another Couple of Million...Crazy Spending in Florida House Race

A pol told me this past year, you better have a least a year of your life and three million dollars if you want to run for Congress. (How many of us have that ?)  It's clear now, even that amount may not be enough in many districts.
We are rapidly getting the best Congress money can buy.

Ive been saying that for years now.. This guy Doheny came back for NYC a few years ago with an agenda and that was to run for congress.. He had and has no history of giving anything of himself as an area resident in fact he had to be embarresed into fixing his mothers front porch.. With nothing but his billfold he built himself a credible challange to Rep. Owens in our district.. He spent*he says three million over the last four years many say as high as six million of his own money.. What has he done for anyone up in NNY.. What has he done since the election?..
He bought himslef a State Senator obviously and also attempted to influence the Scozzafava camp three years ago with a large contribution..
Your right , Washington is the best money can buy...

Man. That hurts. I cringe to think of what Doheny spent. Owens was really out fundraising him all election. I am thinking he tacked on at least another $1.5million "loan" to the $2.2 million he spent in 2010. That's rough.

West spent$16 million of the $18 M after the votes were counted, refusing to concede.

18 million is just one grant for a typical democrat voter. Maybe two at the most. You will spend mOre on the Woolworth building. It doesnt matter how much you spend it won't convInce democrats that they wont be better off voting for the guy that will rob from the makers and give to the takers

West didn't lose. He just wasn't declared the winner. It was a stolen contest. Nobody cares.

According to the recent filing, Doheny loaned less then a million dollars to his campaign this year compared to more than 2 million dollars in 2010 but I am betting they will report more on the 12/31 filing since this filing said the whole campaign spent less then 2 million dollars total, compared to nearly 3.5 million dollars spent in the 2010 election. I know Doheny had a lot more outside "unsponsored" support this year but I can't believe the campaign only spent about 60% of what they spent 2 years ago. We'll see.
