One of the Fun Times as Mayor...Walking in the Chirstmas Parade

Your 'Mayor Who's There' was one of only two elected officials (Sheriff Burns was the other) to come to the Christmas Parade, but that didn't dampen the enthusiasm of two to three thousand revelers who did come out in brisk but pleasant weather to see Santa and the floats.
The Privateers hockey team was out in force along with an antique pirate boat that shoots rings of smoke to the delight of kids. Team owner Nicole Kidman (oops that's Kirnan) had her team handing things out to kids and families to promote the team.
The City also showed off its new snow plow, equipped with a sander instead of the block of concrete.

The parade is a great way to start the Holiday season. Kudos to people like Stan Zaremba who sets it up every year.

I havent been to a parade in years and doubt I will go again. I remember when bands played and your really got in the mood. If it wasn't for Guilfoyle and Davidsons there wouldnt have been a parade. Its to bad that was all we had. Im sure its very hard to organize one of these and Stan did a good job. I guess I expected more floats and some bands. Maybe I am wrong.

3:32 - Great question. These politicians make themselves so visible during the election then disappear into obscurity after it is all over. The whole thing is so fake.

Owens was never a big parade guy, that was really more Doheny's gig so I can't fault him too much. But Patty had a lot of parade appearances. She should show up. And even though he didn't win I also think Doheny should have showed up to cheer on the paraders to legitimize the sincerity of his campaign. His unwillingness to be a regular member of the community says a lot about how much respect he has (or doesn't have, as appears to be the case) for the people in this community.

7:44- that's the point. He disappeared after the election, just as everyone expected him to.
