Jesse Jackson Jr. in plea deal talks with feds, sources say - Chicago Sun-Times

Is it racist to question Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.'s alleged use of $40,000 in campaign funds to by a Rolex for a friend (presumably a female friend).?

Rep. Jackson....son of the civil rights icon....was reelected Tuesday while sitting in the Mayo Clinic being treated for psychiatric problems.
In this country we accept an astounding level of corruption from those who feel the pain of the poor and downtrodden.

What else is new?
Chicago Pose and sheeple who elect them again.

It also shows how stupid and onesided people are.
I bet I got elected again for his skincolor, oviously not for his work in office for his cnstituents.

This cases stinks: either he is milking the system and sticking health as his excuse (which may be valid), or it's a great con game ... He needs to go - sadly, just reelected, too.

Hmm… I dunno, you tell us mayor… since you are the one that raised the question. Did someone say it was? Is there something in the link that suggests “racism?” If not, what is your point, and why the preoccupation with the topic?

I'm with 9:08, I don't get why his race is brought up either. Having said that, I agree, if the allegations are true, than he should resign.

I think what the mayor is trying to say is that it's no coincidence that in Chicago, the odds of an african american getting reelected with a criminal history as well as being an absolute psycho nut job, in the 21st century is pretty much a sure thing to be reelected. What the heck is going on in this country right now? This is just a flat out shame, but, not a surprise

Who is the "civil rights icon" you are talking about? You mean the race baiter icon?

To answer your question...yes...the color of this criminals skin plays a factor in the favorable treatment he is getting. Even Wiener didn't get away with what he did and was forced to step down. And the GOP came out against the Akin remark. But the donkey's will remain silent on this one.

Both parties have their share of these guys. J. J. Jr. was re- elected from a south side of Chicago heavily black district. He will re-sign and be replaced by another black guy.
Now, let's talk about some Republicans who were re-elected, and shouldn't have been from heavily right wing religious right districts who think the earth began 6,000 years ago.

Why is he called an "African -American?" Oh I forgot I think his daddy invented the name. He is just another Chicago thug. There are 54 different parts of Africa from Egypt to South Africa. If they become citizens here they are all African- Americans, like I am a "British, Scottish, German- American!" Just tired of hearing the bogus title!

Stories like this must make doheny's blood boil. It sounds like this guy could fall into this job blindfolded whereas doheny hasn't been able to break the political seal despite an enormous effort.
