Democrats endorsing Democrats is hardly news, but any kind of active support for Bill Owens from Senator Kirsten Gillibrand could be a factor in helping the incumbent in those areas of NY21 that Ms. Gillibrand once represented before her elevation to the Senate.
Because those areas near Saratoga are not represented by Bill Owens now and challenger Matt Doheny was not known there till this year, an introduction from the sitting Senator could arguably help Mr. Owens. Dems are chomping at the bit to try and draw comparisons between Doheny and former Rep. John Sweeney who was defeated by Gillibrand after a scandal over his personal conduct.
One operative who comments here likes to refer to the Republican as "Dosweeeny"...A not so subtle reference. Already this week the Owens campaign has made a point of telling the district how long he has been married compared to the scant five week marriage of his opponent.
With registration against him and issues not favoring him, Mr. Owens, like the President, must resort to personal attacks....Just hope he doesn't accuse Matt of causing anyone's death from cancer.

Well there certainly are a large number of choices to attach Doheny on character. Whether you like it or not character is important in choosing elected officials. Doheny's transgressions are well documented, in law enforcement records as well as photos and video tapes. Even members of his own party talk about him being a party boy. The people in the new part of the district had one such lowlife (Sweeney) representing them and wisely threw him out. They won't make the same mistake again - enrollment aside.
8:01, I think what you meant is to "attack" Doheny on character, not attach him. We certainly know Owens is not a party boy. He isn't allowed up from under Nancie's desk long enough to attend any party, anywhere.

Yawn… can we safely conclude that the Wall Street mugger will never see what color the tear stained carpet is under cry baby Boehner’s desk?
Why yes, I think we can.
I hope old man Owens is able to stay in it for the whole race without sitting out for a breather.
Which shows greater senility on Owens' part:
1)Taking a free trip to Taiwan from the chicoms?
2)Driving 84mph in a 55mph?
3)Or voting for nancycare?
One thing is for sure is it won't be Owens chasing the skirts. If he experiences sudden vision loss or an election lasting longer than five hours he should consult his physician.
If you're running for one of the highest political offices in the country, you'd probably be advised to avoid certain unsavory characters who could potentially derail your campaign. You might want to avoid hiring a former congressman who was arrested for DUI (twice) and "had a woman on his lap when he was pulled over" to run your campaign, for example.
I never new what the phrase Doosweeny met but there certainly is a comparision to the present GOP canidate from Alex bay. His total disregard for authority, his lack and distain of any family values his lack of self control at times and alchol comsumption runa perfect comparrison to the former Congressman from the Saratoga region.. I am so sick of reading the same thing on these blogs. Allow me to summarize...perhaps someone will refrain from repeating the same exact stories and write something new (in order of frequency on this blog)
OWENS:
1. Owens has set up camp under Nancy Pelosi's desk (this is most commonly regarding Obamacare)
2. Owens took an all expense paid trip to Taiwan with his wife which was against house rules...he repaid the cost of the trip
3. Owens got a speeding ticket
DOHENY
1. Doheny was caught a couple times for boating under the influence about 8 years ago. Officers handcuffed him once.
2. Doheny got caught on tape (video and photos) cheating on his fiancé (now wife) on a trip to DC a few months ago.
3. Doheny made a ton of money on Wall Street and he bought a couple islands in Alexandria Bay with the funds

6:47- Owens is only 63. Hardly an "old man" who needs a "breather". If everyone that age simply packed it in and retired we would have an even bigger problem with already underfunded social security and Medicare. Geez.
