Watertown Raid Part of National Mosaic

A Wednesday raid of Tebb's Head Shop in Watertown was part of a coordinated one hundred city national crackdown on synthetic hallucinogens, including the well publicized  version known as 'bath salts'.
Lots of synthetic marijuana and other substances were seized along with a few arrests and weapons seizures.
The Watertown location in the Northland Plaza has been the focus of various issues and is part of an apparent chain of head shops in upstate cities.
One person familiar with the chain says a few weeks back a representitive was bragging that the owner was so smart being able to take the substances and place them in bags and put any name he wanted on them and then sell them.
What is interesting is the report that even with cops in the store Wednesday, customers were still trying to get in to buy product. On YNN, I saw a young man labled as a drug customer being interviewed.   Clearly, they don't see themselves as doing anything wrong or harmful.

As I said the man was wrong to take the law into his own hands ... this story was much bigger than Watertown and one man's revenge...

We also see other things in his past that may also have a bearing on the outcome...

This stories are best allowed to play out, opinions aside as it were.

Danny's call to the hotline yesterday was one of his dumbest and THAT is saying something. Danny went on to tell us this guy might of screwed up a government investigation.

Anyone remember the big drug bust of the car dealer in SLC a while back? Nothing ever happened because the government is too stupid to get anything done.

Danny spent his life in government. That is more proof of government incompetence. Over his whole career no one recognized and did anything about Danny as an employee. They just kept paying him and he kept doing whatever it is that he did. And they STILL keep paying him.

Anon 8:45 - you are worse than a pimple on my ass... you are sick.

I stated clearly about an ongoing police sting (that was in place) and in fact it was on a national, not just NYS or local level.

Picture this, moron: the man enters the place with baseball bat and starts swinging and breaking up the place, nearly at the same time the police bust in... what the hell do you think could have happened: police confronts man swinging a baseball bat.

Pow-pow, one shot angry Dad seeking law on his own terms.

FYI: I had a very productive public service record in DOD for over 40 years - you have a problem with that a-hole, take it up with DOD... just can your insults here. You like pushing my buttons - okay, but keep in mind, they are my buttons. Now, where's my baseball bat? Um...

Wow....this guy really likes to hear himself talk, clearly the definition of an egocentric a-hole. And thank you sooooo much for your FYI. We are truly blessed to be in the presence of such greatness. Sincerely, another "pimple on your ass".

I never get pimples back there. Maybe you should line the seat when you use a public restroom?

It's sad that Avery is being shown as the vigilante martyr. What he did was premeditated. Whether the products Tebb's is selling is harmful or not has no bearing. People choose to smoke even though there is surgeon general warnings on every pack of cigarettes. People decide to drink more alcohol than they should. Now these bath salts should not be consumed. But in all fairness to Tebb's or any other head shop out there, there is a warning on the package saying not for human consumption. So I say stop making excuses for the abusers and vigilantes. Stop making them the heroes. As of now those products are illegal. Lets have faith in the legal situation and take care of its self. If we don't, what's to stop a parent from going on a rampage next time at McDonalds, because their child got obese from eating to much fast food. Avery needs to pay the price. And hopefully young Avery who I'm sure has done more substances that he has led the public and friend know learned a lesson about drugs.

I agree with the mindset of we all need to take responsibility for our actions. Fast food will make us fat, alcohol will get us drunk and we may make bad decisions, doing drugs be it synthetic or the real deal may kill us or seriously hurt us, breaking the law and continuing to do so will land us in jail but blaming everyone else for our crappy decisions rather than the fool in the mirror is ridiculous. On the rare occasion I take the kids to McDonald's drive through it burns my ass to see a sign in the window telling me that the coffee may be hot. All because someone sued them. Coffee is suppose to be hot! This world has just gotten out of control. Walking into that head shop with a bat because his grown son made such marvelous adult decisions and almost lost his life gave him no right to make that decision. Personally, I would be angry with my son! I would be angry with myself wanting to know where I went wrong! He had been stressed out so he turned to bath salts? He is obviously a weak human being. He needs to find better coping skills. I read in the Syracuse paper that he knew his son smoked pot occasionally. I would put a foot in my grown children's asses if I KNEW they did that shit! It is unacceptable. I have one that is a U.S. Soldier so obviously he is drug tested and doing that garbage isn't an option. I am so sick of weak losers who blame everybody else for their issues in life. Stupid did bath salts and it didn't work out so quick tempered daddy looses it and he is revered as a hero? No thank you! We don't bring change with baseball bats. That is taking a huge step back in time. He better be punished severely for this. If not, every single dip shit in this county will pull the same card for whatever cause they think needs changing however stupid it is or self centered it is. I could decide to show up to my husband's ex wife's house feeling she needs a remodel with my bat. The woman is a total bitch that takes the child support and spends every dime on anything but the kid. My view could be the whole child support system needs to be completely overhauled and I just lost it. I would never pay the bitch a visit or do these things and honestly that system is completely jacked up but this is a perfect example of how an irrational person could use this messed up decision he made to their advantage if he gets away with it. Tons will follow. People are dumb. Not many can see how his losing control of his anger was a bad thing!
