As the choice nears on a VP candidate for Mitt Romney, it's clear the GOP must win three states without a favorite sun to help out and then win one other small state like NH or CO to clinch the Presidency.
The three must-flip states are Florida, Ohio and Virginia all won by Mr. Obama in 2008. Indiana and North Carolina are two states that went for the Dems in 2008 and are widely thought to be trending to Mr. Romney already.
Will the Veep choice be aimed at one of those little states ?
If so, look to Sen. Kelly Ayotte of NH, the long shot choice.....
I still think Mr. Romney goes for two scoops of vanilla with either T-Paw or Portman.

Mr. Romney is playing from behind on the electoral map. He needs to win several states in which President Obama has a lead in the polls. Romney's problem is he is offering no solutions to the challenges this country faces. A mantra of lower taxes and less government is not a solution. We already tried that and are still digging out of that hole.
Shouldn't the anointed front runner be winning by more than that at this point in time? Maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part but it seems like by the time the debates come around Obama will lose even more ground. I wonder if Obama will agree to any debates?
I'm surprised you haven't been pushing Doheny or Patty Plate since you do love them so.
Debates are not exactly Romney's strong suit, so I wouldn't put too much faith in that bringing things around for him. He has had all these months since Newt dropped out. Why hasn't he come up with a cogent economic plan to put to the American people? And I say that as a Republican.
Do you really think that that many people are stupid enough to give Obama another 4 years?
Every challenger plays from behind, MD91inhotSauce. Couple that with a complicit media, white guilt, FreeStuff, and half the nation not paying income taxes, and I believe you have the format for another four years. Perhaps even another 8 or 10 when The Great and Anointed One passes on the two term part of the Constitution. I look for the Chief Thug to tell all college students to forget their loans pretty soon too. That will bring in some votes. Remember what Ted Ford always said. The Constitution is a living document. Its been living it up these past three years. What a friggin party it be.
Always enjoy you comments 5:52
But the constitution is not living...it is dead dead dead.
4:24 you should never doubt how stupid the people are. Try as you might you can never missunderestimate them.
3:40 I watched many of the republican primary debates and I thought Romney performed splendidly. He rope-a-doped them and won. What more could you ask for? He performed the impossible. He won the most votes even with a large batchit crazy base.
Mitt does have a cogent economic plan but he doesn't put it to the people because cogent does not win elections. If it did, Obama could not win dog catcher much less be where he is today (and not because he would eat the dogs).
Debating the likes of Rick Perry and Herman Cain is in a whole different league than Obama. Like racing Can-Am versus Daytona.
You are right that it is a whole different league than Obama. Perry actually ran a government successfully before and Cain actually ran a company successfully before. Whereas Obama did what successfully? Got people to vote for him that want FreeStuff, that's what.
Just because Obama goes no where real fast and his logic is circular, does not mean he has anything in common with Daytona.
Obama's is more like a night race.
Git it? Har har. Lighten up.
