City revenues got a bit of good news today as quarterly sales tax numbers continued to perform ahead of budget...That's good because the dry summer is going to decimate hydro revenues at the Marble Street plant.
With ten properties to auction off that were taken for taxes, the City will exceed the modest $20K budget for that line item.
I was busy today talking about Zoo matters in the wake of the sky high bids on the former Aviary. I will have more to say on that tonight.
The new manager and I chatted early today and she was immersed in policy stuff all day. Sharon Addison is on the job as the permanent manager.
Tonights meeting will see yet another request for fee waiving. Good grief.

I think you should make certain the new manager is given a complete background on the past indiscretions in the city police department including the assignation attempt by one of the members.
I have not heard of any city police doing anything but performing their jobs it was odd to seem them charging people with resisting for simply pulling away from officers at least twice in the last few days. I would think that is a natural response and if it isn't the cop just being a jerk then the report should say they pulled away continuously or repeatedly.
One reason I think it should be considered a big responsibility she takes seriously, is the crap going on in the sheriffs department. Not just the naked nonsense but I have heard of too many citizens being harassed for doing nothing by using routine stops.
If they can't get their acts together maybe we need one of those citizen review boards? If you don't want that then man up and do your jobs professionally. If there are one or more jerks then get rid of them instead of covering for them.
Uhh dummy 4:34 you have to submit to arrest, whether it is justified or not,and then the court decides.Pulling away or fighting is the definition of resisting arrest, got it now?Given your tone, gee, it is tough to think you have problems with the police..then again, reading your post, maybe the bell is ringing and it is time to go back to study hall in summer school.
"assignation attempt"? So, they had an appointment with you and failed to show??
And the sheriff is County, not City Einstein
That is clever 6:07, too bad you are not a little more clever and then you would know that the word I intended was assassination regardless of my auto correct mouse click error.
It doesn't matter if the Sheriff is county not city. A wise person could learn from he mistakes of others. (BTW...I am doing a sting on homoerotic bad cop apologists and you would make a perfect decoy. Can I count on you as "being in"?)
5:26 I do not have to submit to arrest. The law might say I am supposed to but that doesn't mean I have to. Then again the law says 56 MPH is speeding too but only a douche bag would write a ticket for 56MPH in a 55MPH zone.
There are a lot more troopers and sheriffs out there every day than there are city cops, but they did not have two "resisting"s in a few days for "pulling away". Probably a coincidence right? (Oops, there I go clicking too fast on the auto correct and misspelling "incompetence.")
The Civilian Review board idea surfaced a few years ago, then died an unpleasant death, remember being it keyed to a call for help to police and they took their time.
