Wisconsin recall: Scott Walker wins

Republican Governor Scott Walker won the recall race, keeping him in office with a percentage higher than the one he got when elected in 2010. Nonetheless Wisconsin voters remain bitterly divided after the past two years and the GOP wins in the Badger State are open to all sorts of interpretation.
It appears to affirm the notion that even in a left leaning state, enough is enough for many voters when it comes to the public employee unions.
While the left and its mouthpiece at NBC say the election is the result of GOP money, there is no disputing voters were engaged and Big Labor was unable to oust the Governor, his Lieutenant Governor and a handful of Senators.
Not a good night for the takers...but good news for the makers.

So hows unemployment in Republican run Jefferson & Lewis Counties? How is downtown Watertown looking these days?I guess the "makers" make everywhere but those parts of NY?Or can't the Federal Government hire enough people at Fort Drum?Instead of being happy about another state look at the area you live in.

9:47 republicans don't run anything in these counties. They cannot even set their own sales tax rates much less determine how much they pay government workers at the county level. We are run by spendocrats in Albany.

Where is Mikey? Where is his constant puke on collective baaaaaaghining? The middle class, the people you supposedly support, have had enough of being screwed by public employee unions. They also have had enough of politicians who will not cut spending. In Wisconsin they have someone who will fight back. And you and yours got your ass handed to you.

So as a public employee Mr. Mayor, are you a taker?

I am a registered Republican who hasnt voted Republican in a major race for quite some time..
Scott Walker has been a man of his word thus enraged the unions and the public servaants in Wisc..
He believes in No new taxes but not for the reasons most republicans sign Grover Norquists pledge. Walker made cuts deep cuts into public sector thus becoming a villian.. Unlike Cuomo he didnt tippytoe around anyone..
Cuomo, Ritchie, Blankenbush Russell all dont believe in cutting. They entirely rely on lip service and nothings acomplished in the end.. My hats off to Mr Walker..
Ms Ritchie promised Star Rebates for us and has provided us nothing. Ms Ritchie has done nothing but have spokesmen talk for her.. Ms Ritchie hadd a chance to help make some cuts (Tug Hill Commission) but instead bowed to the wishes of Dean Skelos and the Party.. Now they have a chance to get rid of the Thruway commission and its deadwood.. Dont hold your breath.. She opposes the minimum wage increase the Northern New York poor need... She wants to help the rich instead... Now she introduces legislation to make it more difficult for people to obtain a mortorcycle licsence...
Because of policans like Ms Ritchie I have retired to the ranks of RINO.......

Jeff. and lewis counties my have Republican run boards of legislators, but they have very little say in how the counties are run. Albany pretty much runs the show and Albany is controlled by N.Y. City Democrats. The counties, regardless of political orientation have doodly-squat to say about the laws and taxes that are driving businesses and talent out of the stae.

I didn't see Fox celebrating. But it fits the pattern many want to believe. Congrats for following the pattern, Mr Mayor.

C’mon 1:19 PM, you’re not suggesting the mayor who is a vested public service employee is a hypocrite who talks out of both sides of his pie hole when he refers to other PSE’s as “takers” are you?

12:44, That suggestion would be poppycock. While the mayor receives pay and benefits for his service and those benefits are Cadillac, the time he puts in to the mayors job makes them miniscule. Whereas a trooper, for instance, is waaaaaaaaaay overpaid and compensated. The proof being the comparison of a sheriff's compensation or a city cop's.

Sorry about the spelling in my 5:20 post. Didn't proof read it very well, obviuosly.

Hey 827 Both Sheriff's and City Cops have "binding arbitration"
