WDT: Source: State Grant Paid for Cameras...Oh It Was Free Money..

It probably amazed "law enforcement" that people are upset over those cameras all over St. Lawrence County paid for by a "state grant" and put up secretly to prevent "border crime".
People don't like being watched. I have always heard complaints about the incessant road blocks along the border. Sometimes its to prevent terrorism or there's the old saw about the war on drugs.
Maybe its to stop people not paying New York's $4.60 a pack tax on cigarettes.
The images are available to any police agency. A boon to reality shows not seen since dashboard cams turned traffic stops into entertainment for the masses.

This stuff has usually been sold as Homeland Security and wouldn't be necessary of we allowed our military to finish the job. But again, people like to be raised as sheep. A state friggin grant? So WE paid for this. Where were Ritchie and Addie on this? Why don't we save all this money and just put tracking devices in all rectums? I'm sure someone has already thought of it.

Patty Ritchie provided the grant. Now she's dancing around the issue. Patty don't you know what you voted for?

Not any different than our local Sheriff's Dept. having Boats, ATV's, Snowmobiles, Tracking devices, and theres probably somewhere. Of course its funny the elected officials attitudes about items that a taxpayer questions.

Yes she did.. Ritchie makes like she big on gun bill protection but caters to the big guns in law enforcement for cameras, tracking devices placed on cars etc... She just helped pass the law for mortorcylcles to have to go to courses.. Think long and hard folks.. Who did this bill help>>> Yup it dont take a rocket scientist....

Many people are getting very tired of getting questioned by police during "routine road blocks"...Why does an officer need to know where I am travelling to and from...You can talk about Tiennaman Square in China but it is starting to feel like a police state in NNY...Now cameras????

Many people are getting very angry over these routine road blocks..Why does an officer need to know where I am travelling to and from...at one stop outside of Tupper Lake the trooper wanted to know "why I was so far away from home?"..I live in St. Lawrence County..NNY is really starting to feel like a police state and now we have cameras watching too?????? Enough is enough...

Yep SUNY president every 8 miles duplicating each other's programs and services and spending NY yaxpayers money on kids in China , Russia , Ukraine and god knows where else and NOW Patty helps Big Brother with these damn cameras and lord knows what else?

Our situation only gets worse as these politicians find new and expensive ways to WASTE scarce resources while WHAT used to be the Middle Class endures "The Second Great Depression"

Was this a Pattie deal? I mean really, cut the partisan BS. WAS HIS A PATTY DEAL? I would love to know. If it is, it puts her in a category that sickens me.

Graham is an ardent supporter of hers, maybe he knows if she voted for it. If he supports her, I am going the other way.

226 Time to man up.. I was stopped in the same manner and asked where I was going and where I was coming from.. I told them it was none of his f------ business.. They had me pull over and threstened to search my vehicle.. I told them not without a warrant and I would gladly wait but I would resist any effort without a warrant. I was wearing a sidearm and they freaked out.. Two pulled their weapons then asked me why I had that on... I was nervous dealing with imature Asses like this but I simply told them,, Because I can have it and carry it.. Again I was threatened with arrest and I told them to go for it.. Later a more calm officer came to my vehicle and told me to go ahead... My wife got most of this on her cell phone and camera and a lot of the taping is audible.. This issue is not done with yet... I am going to put Senator Ritchie on record over this incident on Rt 37 near Massena....

Good for you 724, Reminds me of the "Pot story" a few years ago, St. Lawrence caught a man with a small amount of pot, well they wanted him to sell a bigger lot of it, when he feared for his safety if he did sell the large amount, they claimed it belonged to him all along, The family was roughed up by the local cops,(even threatened to shoot the dog) as luck would have it Our county judge saw it differently and dismissed all charges........

7:24 They expect you to just comply with whatever they want. Feel lucky. It this took place at an airport they would have been looking inside your wife's underwear. But most people think this is good.

7:24 since when did being stupid mean to man up? You are lucky the cops didn't shoot you dead and your wife wasn't collateral damage. Unless you are black you would just be a blip on the national news.

If you want to make a stand you better have too many witnesses for them to kill. Or better yet run for office and choke off their free money funding. You could at least take the local sheriffs off this detail by running for local office.

724 I'm glad you shared this. I back you all the way.

When someone stands up to them, and calls them on their BS, they take it as a threat. In a way it is. Citizens who question why they are required to tell them why they are driving down the road are a threat to their Nazi like behavior. I know people don't want to hear it but how else can it be described?

958.. Most of them probably have been in my wifes underware.
Most troopers and Sheriffs patrol a county. They all have acquatances throughout the county.. they eat at commercial places of business and dont kid yourself they have time to spare to eat at non commercial places. Most of these guy and now the gals feel their the man and your right they feel you should comply with whatever you are told by them.. I have been told we could be arrested for videoing that incident but a lawyer told me my wife could video me and if the trooper got in the picture tough shit.... Keep that in mind folks video anything other than a officer doing his duty and if he get in the picture nothing can be done..
Think why the laww was passed that it was against the law to video or take a picture of a cop doing his job.. Really think about it... They tell us if we have nothing to hide then why do we object to searches then ask them why if they got nothing to hide why can you be arrested to taping a cop.......

I suggest complete compliance with law enforcement during these searches. But I also suggest we do it S L O W L Y. They probably justify the show with telling someone how many citizens they inconvenience. There is no law that says you cannot take a few minutes to find your license, uuhh, regis t ra tion, uhh. Sorry storm trooper, I get nervous when stopped for no reason. I'm not suggesting resistance, just careful compliance.
